Re: Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland

In fact, I never took it up, but they used to do a bikers day on the boat. I think it was something daft like £15 return which included a free bacon roll (this was to Ireland). Even had a suggested day route. Pro COVID though and I'm not sure we'll see it again.

Re: Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland

Aye, was at the TT last year, price did make me wince. But the Stena sailing was acceptable, it's even quite a nice boat compared to feeling like you are in the hold of a trawler on the Steam Packet. We are a bit spoiled up here also as ferry prices are capped, if only they opened up the Isle of Man...

Re: Five take a ride to the Emerald Isle

Looks like a great trip! I'll need to do the rest from a clockwise direction next time. Had the same experience at the Cliffs of Mother. I'd seen a load of cliffs by then and didn't fancy €12(obviously went up in a couple of weeks). Another spot I had on the itinerary was Doolin and you get a fine v...

I got the ferry from Cairnryan to Belfast and headed North. I think it was £59/69 each way. I booked flexible for the way back and did indeed change my booking and came home a day early. Stayed in BnBs and they were between £50-70.

Re: Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland

We did some of it last month,my favourite part was around the ring of Kerry. We got as far up the coast as Galway. Definitely going back, but next time going to spend a few days based in Dingle & Kenmare. The weather certainly helps & I plan on going at short notice after looking at the forec...

Re: Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland

Well, I'm just back yesterday from nigh on a week away. Basically took a right off the ferry at Belfast and more or less hugged the coast and got as far as Kenmare where I finished off the Ring of Kerry and headed back. If you are thinking of doing this then I'd say get on it, really is a wonderful ...

Funnily enough seeing how many bikes pass through some folks hands had me wondering if I was wrong😀

Bikes, do they change hands quite a bit?

I'm still looking for a new bike, recently I've spoke with a few folks regarding their bikes for sale. Two I looked at both 2016 models, one had 5 owners and the other 6. I've just pinged a message away to another seller and the 2020 bike has had 3 owners. Am I wrong in thinking that this is a bit o...

Re: Buying a bike online

Thanks all, seeing in person is a no goer, I could probably pick the bike up if I bought it with a fair bit of traveling, I'm just outside Glasgow and the bike is in Maidstone. But I take it on board and I'd probably widen my circle to places I would travel to to view. The bike isn't particularly sc...

Re: Buying a bike online

Price wouldn't be insignificant to me but I'm not seeing any red flags so far. They have posted a video and do point out a couple of defects which are acceptable. Do you all feel comfortable haggling a bit over the phone? Price is fair to be honest but it's always nice to feel you have got a bit off.

Buying a bike online

I'm looking at a new bike online. The ad is pretty comprehensive and there is also a walk around video pointing out the good and the bad. Is there anything else you would ask if you were doing this? Any tips or pointers? I'd also be buying the model blind as it were, so some nerves are appearing. Se...

Re: Honda bikes, build quality?

I think my opinion of the CB1000R finishing comes from some of the AndyManCam videos. I'd need to look over them again but there was a few issues iirc. Not as obvious as the Africa Twin ones though, seems like lots of owners have rust issues and the well documented wheel corrosion.

Honda bikes, build quality?

Looking at new bikes and I'm a fan aesthetically of the CB1000R and the Africa Twin*, looking around the 2016/18-2020 age. The bikes seem comparatively good value but a bit reading and finishing seems to be poor. Are they really that bad? I live around 10m from the sea and everything gets attacked b...

I've plans to do this or at least some of it this June. Anyone done it or tips? Accommodation recommendations welcome to or at least places to stop.

Coolant, are they all the same?

First ride of the year saw my radiator developing a hole l, anyway I've removed it and hopefully it's getting repaired. I'll obviously be filling with new coolant. Are there any particular products that are better than others? Bike is a street triple which does seem to run a little hot.
