The JAPton has a modified BTH with something similar, not sure where from, but i did find a company that does the mod... I wonder if they've upgraded their offering to include the security feature. Loving this thread. I've wanted a 2CV since I first drove my mates one in the 90's. It was (looking through rose tinted's maybe?) an absolute hoot to drive.

The 123 ignition is excellent and the car feels a lot better with the new ignition system, starts a lot better too.
I think the reality of the drive might temper anyone's enthusiasm. I took this on the phone this afternoon and I'm surprised how slow it looks on the road. I wasn't holding up anyone and caught up with several people. What the video doesn't show is just how busy you are driving this kind of car, you don't get a moment to think unless you're on a long straight bit. Although slow, it's a lot of fun.

Went to watch my mate in the Caterham Cup at Oulton park a few weeks ago and there was 2CV
racing on the same day. We genuinely thought the 2CV's were on their warm up lap when they had
actually started racing, I think they were tuned as well.

This weekend's job (if I get time) is to work out what's causing this 'small' fuel leak I get when I've filled the car up to the brim. It can only really be the sender unit gasket, the sender unit rusting away or the hose from the sender. The filler tube and hose is dry. I'll find out when I've dropped the tank.

My old polo breadvan did this, filler neck was rotting just beind the filler cap - used to chuck petrol about if I took a left hander a bit 'quick'

Turned out to be a combination of two things. The first was that the hose to the sender had degraded but the main issue what that the sender itself wasn't secured properly or had come adrift and the gasket wasn't up to the job. I did buy another gasket but can't find it since we tidied up the house to put it up for sale so reused the old one with some appropriate sealant and some better bolts and it's tight.
The tank was completely solid. It's a strong plastic item that seems to have more strength than the rest of the car put together.

Hmm, now this is a rare beast apparently - the Citroen Sahara. A 4 wheel drive based on the 2CV but with two engines -

A mate was driving a 2CV from Lusaka, Zambia back home to the Netherlands last year, last I heard he was struggling to get through the borders in the Sudan but had driven through Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia and the car was still going well ...
