Mr. Dazzle wrote: Tue Jan 26, 2021 7:12 pm So you had to walk up the ski slop noggin?

Fuck. That. :D

I remember walking up a sled slope in Colorado and getting out of breath! That was at about 3000 metres* though, how high are you?

*The town was 3000 metres, I didn't walk up a 10,000ft high sled slope

Sorry, forgot - I'm at 2000m. It takes me about 6 weeks to get to almost normal breathing when I get here from a summer in the uk, or this year, a summer near Grenoble!! (Should take a couple of weeks, but regardless of my fitness level, my system doesn't seem to like altitude!!)

I do walk up slow when I tour but I also recover very fast, so it's worth it :D :D

Good skills in getting the dog to blow up the balloons.

Was testing the replacement for the replacement camera today, stuck it to a window & left it alone. Caught this critter. (it's only an 16second clip)

My physio pissed me off a couple of years ago when I mentioned that as he told me I was 'too old' to learn to snowboard!!!

I learnt when I was 41 - just haven't done it the last few seasons as had a bad shoulder!!

Today I've chuckled at that turn of phrase. I have no idea why, it just tickled me.

My Mum had the vaccine part 1 on Monday (a home visit) and she hasn't turned into a zombie yet. In fact, she seems rather well - happy days :banana-dance:

And [edit] I was just talking to someone from work, someone I dont know, I said the obligatory "Hi, how are you" and he said "OK, I have covid". Now, if ever there was a reason to turn off the work laptop, put your feet up for the day and watch some Judge Judy, it's covid right? What's wrong with some people.

Some people just like working - I often find myself doing a bit on the laptop when I'm not "supposed" to be. Some of us are just odd like that.

I actually quite like having my laptop switched on and connected to the VPN all the time, it means I can drop in and out of work. I end up doing way more than my contract hours, but since I like doing it there's no harm.

I appreciate that and it was said partly in jest. It can depend on what job you do and how much ownership you take of it. This guy works in a contact centre, there are plenty of other people to pick up the work and there is no recognition for working when you don't feel well - but yes, I get it, work can be interesting and you can feel better when you're doing something and the day can go quicker.

I spend a lot of time on my work phone replying to emails, arranging stuff, talking to people, when I’m off duty. In the current situation and with changes at work happening constantly, I see this as my job tbh. When I WFH I don’t sit at the pooter for 8 hours so it’s a bit of give and take.
Must admit, if I get COVID I will be having some time off.
Just my opinion.

I've always said that if I won the lottery I'd still go to work.

I'd love the opportunity to find out if I mean it :D

No, working from home. We sent all staff home in March 2020 and anyone in the office now has a very legitimate reason for being there, such as mental health, no home internet, no work station. Productivity is up.

I just looked at the Venetian blind in the kitchen that I climbed up on the worktop to clean the other weekend. I think all I did was smear much of the thin layer of grease around each of the slats. :(

Take it down and give it a good scrub in the garden, I reckon....
