FWIW, I knew a guy who kept meticulous fuel and mileage records. He bought a new BMW K75S, mpg gradually improved and only levelled out after 15,000 miles.
Even bland can be a type of character :wave:

I asked the dealer when I picked up my car a couple of weeks ago.

"Not really" was the answer :lol:

It does have some guidance buried deep deep in the user menus but you have to properly go looking for it. Don't bounce off the rev limiter during the first 1500km is as far as it goes.

It may be different for cars vs. bikes, but the last new bike I bought (KTM Duke 690 2017 MY), during the 'break in' phase, if you went above a certain rev limit the LED tacho bar turned red. Quite disconcerting the first time it happened. So I had to keep trying to see if it would do it again...
