Just under 60mpg on this morning's commute... In a car that weighs 5004lb (according to the app).

I don’t think cars need “running in” these days.
Certainly not company cars that get given back every year.

FWIW, I knew a guy who kept meticulous fuel and mileage records. He bought a new BMW K75S, mpg gradually improved and only levelled out after 15,000 miles.Potter wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 12:10 pmI don’t think cars need “running in” these days.

"Not really" was the answer
It does have some guidance buried deep deep in the user menus but you have to properly go looking for it. Don't bounce off the rev limiter during the first 1500km is as far as it goes.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
It may be different for cars vs. bikes, but the last new bike I bought (KTM Duke 690 2017 MY), during the 'break in' phase, if you went above a certain rev limit the LED tacho bar turned red. Quite disconcerting the first time it happened. So I had to keep trying to see if it would do it again...

I'm looking forward to sharing it with some French friends tomorrow
EDIT : Forgot to say that shit is pronounced Sheeeet here, so dip shit is Deep sheeeet. Basically the same as deep shit
