Everyone's Super Unleaded can be 5% Ethanol, doesn't mean it is, same with ordinary unleaded, it can be up to 10% ethanol, it could be 0% ethanol.Skub wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 1:10 pmYeah,we have E5 Super in a few places, but since Shell and Esso don't operate here,we can't get the non ethanol stuff.Bigjawa wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 12:45 pmSainsbury's super unleaded is E5.Skub wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 8:21 pm Super job,I'll enjoy seeing progress, even though it's a poxy old ghey Homda.
Those rubber seals on the float bowls may not like E10. I know a man who used to make them, but doesn't now as the ethanol swells them up. Maybe get away with E5 or the non ethanol stuff,if you can get it. No one does it here.

The way to find out is to drink it, if you're violently ill it's just petrol. If you also get pissed it's got ethanol in too.

Errrr... while \i will drink most stuff..even if I brewed it myself.....to test a quantity of unknown fuel... pour 5 litres into a glass container and add 10% of water...other quantities in proportion.
The ethanol will mix with the water, observation will tell you the amount of ethanol present.
The petrol on top of the ethanol /water mix is perfectly useable.
I would only reccomend drinking the water /ethanol at the bottom if you are really fed up with seeing stuff.

Well, she's all done and ready for sale- took the old girl out for what I planned to be a 2 mile shakedown run, it was running lovely so I kept going and ended up doing nearly 30- aside from the shockingly bad (and it's all new ) front brake, it really is a lovely old thing and a very pleasant bike to enjoy these sort of roads on

Nice one, looks really well.
You might be able to sell it as being ULEZ compliant -

Two categories of historic vehicles are exempt from ULEZ:
All vehicles built before 1 January 1973
Vehicles over 40 years old that have been successfully registered with the DVLA for a historic vehicle tax class.

I could take my fog machine H1 into London and that's ok,but worky Joe will need to pay for his Transit van.

Read an article by a woman that lives in Surrey with her BB (as she calls him...Builder Boyfriend). A customer in London commiserated with him about ULEZ. He said 'Oh, I'm not paying it - you are'.Skub wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:39 pmThat's nuts.Lutin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:22 pm Nice one, looks really well.

Apparently decent tradespeople are in short supply so they simply add a daily surcharge. Stick £12.50 on the daily rate for a plasterer or plumber and who notices?
So, in the case, the polluter doesn't pay.
Edit...I should probably have posted that in the other thread.

Apparently the £12.50 is tax deductible for the self employed, so no big drama....

If the weather's good next week and you're around and not too busy one day I will - have made some fine adjustments to the brakes so need to test it out
