Only thing I can think of that will suit is a KTM Duke 890 R... It's 18kg over a 690 but still light for what it is. It's also got a VERY punchy motor (they often dyno power figures at the back wheel almost what is quoted at the crank!)... Chuck in stupendous brakes (Stylema's with a Brembo RCS Master cylinder on a bike weighing that little!!!), fully adjustable suspension and a decent electronics suite combined with quite a motard riding position, it's a hell of a lot of fun on twisty, bumpy roads...

So why didn't I buy one, and what did I buy instead...? I wanted something just a touch more refined and a more "conventional" naked sports bike riding experience... I bought a Ducati SFV2... It's ace!

I saw that bike over on Gran Canaria and does nothing for me really. It's only 5 Kgs less than my GSXR1000.
And if I have a fast bike, it needs a fairing. To me it's like a car with no windscreen.

I fear you are missing the point entirely with these bikes...

Sounds like you're a die hard sports bike fan, that lives somewhere where they're totally unsuitable for the roads (to be fair, that's anywhere in the world these days)... I used to be this way too, until I realised that naked bikes and Adventure Bikes not only make more sense on the roads, they're more fun too...

Cars without windscreens are usually more fun than cars with. Not wholly practical for sure, but more fun yes. Besides, you can put a little screen on it... I did. Makes enough difference that can cruise @ 80 in comfort at least.

Naked bikes are WAY more fun on the roads than sports bikes, and every bit as capable. For sure they're not as quick on a track, but you have your GSXR1000 already so...

Some epic tight and twisty roads there to be fair... Perfect for a Supermoto or a lightweight sporty naked bike! A GSXR1000 there...? Do you manage to get it out of 2nd gear often?

I absolutely adore sports bikes... Grew up lusting after RC30's, OW01's, 916's, RC45's etc... I've had my fair share of sports bikes over the years too, but since I opened my eyes to just how compromised sports bikes are on the road, I haven't looked back!

Good luck finding your unicorn anyway...

To be fair I'm not sure that a tuned 350LC was better than a CB900, but it was faster and handled better.
