Road legal Trial bikes

Anyone got one?
Care to let me know how long/far they run on a tankful.
Don't envisage doing a jog on it or even a ldt, but I do have a seemingly endless supply of tracks and woodland nearby.

DT175MX for a litt;e light trail riding , although I did do an enduro on it 25 years ago. No tax or mot 60 to 70 miles to a tankfull.

If you mean trail, the KTM/Husky/GasGas F.I. bikes are very frugal.
I've never needed a refill in 5 years of long 4 or 5 hour enduro rides.

Had a 250 sherpa ages ago, that took over a gallon!
I'm on about a 250txt kind of trials bike. 3l or so tank. Local duffer is getting rid of his and its fully regd, which is handy. I could actually get into my woods without going on the roads, but eventually sure les flics would start sniffing around.

3 litres is going to get you about 20 - 30 miles on a two stroke trials bike, depends a lot on how you ride it, you'd be better off with a Gas Gas Pampera, they have very similar engines to the txt but are a lot more road friendly, the Mk3 Pampera is actually really good, but you'd be buying a 20 year old Spanish trail bike, which would be a brave purchase.

No power valve on the Pampera to disintegrate into the cylinder tho'

I knew a coup!e of people with them 20 years ago, they never had any problems with them.

Then I'd buy a 250/300exc, as we have moved into enduro/ldt/trail territory.
Trials bikes tend to have frame/plastics/wheel damage rather than knackered motors

I had a Beta 250 Evo which was road registered. Tiny tank but I never hit reserve when I was out on it. I think the longest I was out was about 90 minutes and going pretty gently and stopping sometimes.

A mate bought a brand new one from a dealer somewhere in south london, went to pick it up, dealer started it up out front and it seized up on the forecourt after ticking over briefly :P

He still bought it and it seemed pretty reliable .
