I walked 4km. only to a shop and back. My arm still objects to that amount of walking, so I'm not very impressed!!

On a side note, my phone tells me I'm walking around 1km each day and that's just around the rehab centre!! I'm quite impressed at that!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

My busiest day of the season yesterday, over 22000 steps !TBF it's not that unusual to crack 20000 but not really what I wanted on my birthday weekend !

Discovered the massive blackberry bushes and Apple trees in the park near my house and after duly checking they were on public land got myself the makings of a cut price crumble....

I've lived here 6 years and only just discovered this mini orchard 10 mins walk away. There are a dozen different apple trees, miles and miles of BlackBerry and even a few medlars. All planted by MK Parks Trust.

Out for a walk this morning and went to stroke a bulldog pup.

The owner said it had a habit of biting but oh no I knew better

The poor owner was mortified especially as it was pouring blood onto the pavement but I could only keep reassuring him that it was my fault more than the pups.

53 years ago today I joined the army and subsequently served for 23.5 years. I'm OK now, thank you.

46 years ago yesterday I married Mrs Right. It only took me 3 months to find out her first name was Always. :D In Feb she'll have been gone 10 years.

We have one of the copper roses Steven made around the time of his mum's passing. Lovely work and a piece that actually means something.

Thank you.

I have one in the house that was my neighbours'. Turhan and his wife Beysun were very good to me when I came back here after Pat died and I think Steve gave them a rose. Turhan died a couple of years ago and last year Beysun sold the house, preferring to just keep the apartment in Ankara. I can come into the site by their house as a shortcut from the bus stop and a couple of months after the house had been sold I noticed the copper rose in a patio plant pot. Beysun had always kept it in the house on a sideboard. The new owners weren't around (I've still never met them) so I lifted it and if I get the opportunity I'll return it to Beysun.

Steve is very good at what he does and the roses, as a sideline, provided a fair bit of the money we raised for St Catherine's Hospice. About half of the money raised came from people on TRC who were very generous (and bought most of the roses).

You'll have to ask him (if you are in touch) if he's still making them, I live in Turkey and Steve lives in the US and works wherever so I don't know if he has the time or the facilities.

It's heartening to know so many people have held on to them.

I’ve got a vague memory, I think at the time I wanted one but never seemed to order it. Life and time got in the way.
If he is still making them, or something similar I would love one, Ive got a favourite memory corner like Ratty.
