Re: More "exploring" the rules in the cycling world!
It’s wild how some teams are bending the rules to gain an edge. I get that innovation is part of the game, but it feels like safety is taking a backseat. We need to find a way to keep the sport competitive without putting riders at risk.

Re: Edinburgh Kawasaki and HD
It’s a bit of a shame to see another dealer close, especially in Edinburgh where options are already limited.

Re: Sciatica when driving a car
I struggled with sciatica for months, and driving was one of the hardest things to deal with. The pain would start as a dull ache and quickly turn into sharp, shooting sensations down my leg. Adjusting the seat didn’t help much, and long trips became unbearable.

Re: Back to model making
That Otto Langen engine is a solid project. Gears can be a pain to make, so buying them and just adjusting makes sense. It’s cool that you're doing most of it from scratch though.

Re: Goldfren brake pads, anyone use them?
Goldfren pads? I’ve heard some people like them, but honestly, I’ve never had a good experience. They just don’t have the bite or feel I’m after. I’d stick with OEM or SBS if I were you, just seems safer overall.

Nice upgrade! That web access is a huge step up. 20 years of use is impressive, though, it was time.

Re: Travelling to forrin lands - anybody used an eSIM?
I think an eSIM is better than a local SIM, you’re more confident you’ll have internet without having to search for one when you arrive.
Last year, I visited Thailand 2 times and used this Thailand eSIM. It worked great and is pretty affordable (the cheapest plan starts at $9).

You're hitting all the main spots, but I'd definitely add Kanazawa for its samurai vibe and Kenrokuen Garden. Also, if you're in Hakone, Owakudani is a cool volcanic hot spring spot. Other than that, looks like you've got it covered! Enjoy the trip!

Looks like a great build! Akrapovic or Arrow are solid choices for great sound and weight balance. Race dampers with DB Killer give you the punch you need without being too loud. Keep an eye out for great deals on eBay too.

Re: Goodyear sell off Dunlop
Sumitomo is a large Japanese company with operations in various industries. The company already owns the rights to Dunlop in some parts of the world, and this acquisition will significantly expand its reach. As for Goodyear, it appears they are focusing on their core tire business and leaving the ...

Re: Depression
Last time I smoked a joint in Thailand I had to hold onto the edge of the bed in case I got swallowed up by it and got very, very anxious about a glass of water that was on the bedside cabinet in case I knocked it off and walked on broken glass, to the point that Mrs. G had to take it out of the ...

How about CBD for depression? Anyone tried it?
I'm thinking of going to one of the medical cannabis clinics here, Lyphe, and getting a consultation. Maybe it's worth trying.

If he has some spares or a workaround, that could save me a lot.mangocrazy wrote: Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:40 pm Have you thought of giving Griff Wooley at AP Workshops in Tamworth a call? I know he has used spares for Falcos, Milles, Tuonos etc. He may well know a cheaper workaround or alternative.

Re: Tyre question..
My GSXS750 had Angel STs on it when I got it, they were okay, they had enough grip for a 100 bhp bike, the rear was better than the front, I would have liked something grippier on the front, but the front tyre lasted 12000 miles, and the rears 6000.
I prefer the Dunlops on my Honda, which has ...

Pricing just under £9k for the council spec seems pretty competitive. I’m curious to see how it performs on the road.
