Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates

Had a bit of a pop at my 5 min power today. Interesting results.

Previous PB (2018)
284 @ 5 mins @ 80kg = 3.55

Today
272 @ 5 mins @ 72kg = 3.77

Should probably get back into some Zwift races again!

Very nice progress! I've started a little IF (16 hours a day). Basically skip brekkie

Re: First bouncy bike!

Shop gave me some new bolts today which should fix it.

The seat came attached from the factory apparently. Shop just puts the dropper in.

Re: First bouncy bike!

Well, less fun stuff has started. The saddle was +5 degrees (so nose up). Tried to fix ... The front bolt/clamp was not tight and basically rounded (prob why it wasn't tight). The rear was cross threaded. I'm a baboon when it comes to mechanical stuff. But even I don't mess this stuff up  Wil...

Re: First bouncy bike!

Not sure I have the skills to comment on Fork or Shock  It felt very plush though. Much more speed downhill than previous. I didn't go far (15mi) as the setup needs fixing, could feel my hamstring complaining. What kinda tyre pressure do you run for ridgeway stuff? I Kept it low (30) on the HT ...

Re: First bouncy bike!

First ride was a success! Didn't crash and nothing fell off.

It amazing how smooth and comfy it is. Tons more confidence downhill too.

Saddle is a PITA though. Need to have a fiddle with that.

Re: First bouncy bike!

Few pic. No drama with the pick up, just not sure I'll be able to ride until Sun/Mon. The carbon is an interesting look!

First bouncy bike!

So thanks to a modified cycle scheme at work I decided to get a FS bike. Never owned one before, and the HT is getting on a bit now. So picking this up tomorrow: https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/epic-evo-comp/p/175240?color=281553-175240&searchText=94820-5002 I didn't think it was going to happ...

Good luck! Hope you are on the mend.

I put on about 8kg over Covid. Have been chipping away via walking and cycling.

Re: Zwift, riding and racing.... update thread, info thread, motivational thread.

It works for me, but does hold you in a very specific position. I'd like to get something more conventional at some point, so I can shift about a bit more. But it's not high up the list considering this one has worked for years++

I really don't like the look of it

Then tells you how tired you are etc each morning. Has a monthly fee though :( Do you not know that already by how tired you are ? Sometimes! I've found the data handy though. People have found it can help highlight Covid before symptoms which is a plus point too. https://www.whoop.com/how-whoop-is...

Yeah it tracks

Active HR
Resting HR (sleep stuff at night)
Heart Rate Variability (the main things)
Respiratory Rate

Then tells you how tired you are etc each morning. Has a monthly fee though :(
