I'd love to say 1. But sadly I'm not even sure it's 1.

If anyone can get him pushing the front end and training for sprint's though, it's them

It's his swansong year. Having said that if training has gone well and he's finally rid of his health issues then they are exactly the team to put together a train for him to get a couple of cheeky stage wins in the Tour - a lot of the infrastructure (people) are still the same as when he was there previously (a long time ago) so know him well so it may happen.

Any which way the bloke is an absolute legend and inspiration for many of the current generation of riders both pro and am so fair play to him for getting himself a paid farewell tour for the year.

So sadly he had a late mechanical in his first race in Almeria but is in for Le Samyn as one of the team. He's arguably not their main man for this race with Senechal as potentially taking the lead role, but as we know, a puncture on the cobbles can instantly wipe someone out, so he could find himself in a higher role if the cards fall in his favour. But i don't think this route particularly suits him these days.... So will be very interesting.

Well lets see how the boy Cav goes today in the Le Samyn. I'm not sure he has the surges of the spring classics in him, they're brutal on-off-on-off at times, so will be curious to see if he's been training for that with Quickstep over winter.

I think he'll be fairly happy.

29th and just 3s off the win, but that's partly/mostly because he was helping Senechal in the race and at the end. But i'm guessing neither of them had anything left for the sprint, but he was in the melting pot until the end so clearly isn't a million miles away. Whether the Gods will align for him and give him a chance for a proper run at a final 400m, i don't know... but nice he was at the pointy end.

2nd for Cav today, the winner went way early and Cavs boys got caught out, but clearly he beat everyone else and was damn close.

BOOM ! Cavendish WINS !!!!

Beat plenty of cracking sprinters too, admittedly not 100% of the cream of the crop, but hey, it's a proper win for him !!!!!

and BOOM ! There he is again, back to back wins.

Today was a much better leadout and positioning from the team and from him, it opened up nicely and away he went for the win with great power !

just watched his 2nd win, brilliant, he's almost as quick as me when I am setting off from the lights.

what gets me is when they are all going for it so close together. great stuff

The last few KMs are just absolute chaos, all these bikes so close together battling for the prime bit of road that everyone else also wants, all at 40+mph and with 22mm wide tyres ! Then to sweep left or right into a gap and put out 1500+ watts, well that's just crazy talk

Wonder if he'll do the London six days again if he's back on form.

That'd be great to see again. That was one of my life highlights seeing him and Wiggins there with you.
