Re: Safer Roadsfor Motorcyclist

My mate wrote the TfL document. For the latest document, the UK contributer is a IHE (Institute of Highway Engineers), as am I. I was chatting to him yesterday and mentioned I had uploaded it here.

Re: The Auction Game

£9-11k for a 2003 Ducati 999S feels like a lot, but I freely admit I have no idea how much they are 'normally'. I'm having this lovely green Guzzi though. https://images1.bonhams.com/image?src=Images/live/2023-03/13/25320825-1-8.jpg&height=430&quality=90 That Guzzi was the one that stood ou...

Another vote for the horrible seat unit. I would prefer a more standard look/street sleeper. Do the wheels and supension but keep it looking standar ish.

Re: Abba stands?

As well as the front lift I also have the uneven ground base. They are about 10 miles from me and got it at the same time as the front lift. My hydraukic bench is too narrow to use the stand, but with the base bolted to it I can get the Tuono up on it. I also have a blue stand which was left over fr...

Re: Baffles in or out?

The Tuono has a fuel exhaust, I run iy with the baffle in. Its pretty loud I've had it repacked once but I reckon its needs doing again. The big pulses from the 500cc pistons wrecks the wadding. I took the restriction out of the standard exhaust end can and did the airbox mod as soon as it was run i...

Re: Massimo Rinchiuso's Guzzi

I wondered about the wheels, especially the rear with the shaft drive. Both front and rear wheels on a normal Guzzi from the 70s are very heavy, a fashion thing rather than performance.

Re: Best road you've ever ridden (or driven, if we must)

Hard to identifya complete road, most of my favourites would be a series of bends, I will often do a route just for a particular bend. Done the B500 four or five times in both directions have to be going fast to make it interesting (2x the limit in places) and can be dodgy with all the tourists and ...

Re: Brake Fluid disposal

Apply it thinly over your neighbours* cars paintwork. It gets rid of your used fluid and provides them with a hardwearing paint protection covering. * doesn't work on cars you own, effects are relative to neighbours dickheadedness. Did wonder about that, but I need a more subtal approach. Cat litte...

Brake Fluid disposal

I have several half filled bottles of brake fluid. Not wanting to use them as all are at least a year + old, how do I dispose of them? Is it ok to tip it into the oil recycling tank at the local recyling centre.
I've read kitty litter is an option but I don't have a cat.

Don't like it, still waiting for them to do a Mk1 Le Mans replica, which might be poular although not sure the state of peoples backs who remember the original. They could get rid of the heavy throttle if they do.

Re: Monday 19th little jolly

Sounded like a lot of bikes out early today. Ended up doing about 100 miles on the Tuono, up north of Newmarket and back. Lots of petrol stations shut and even Tesco pay at pump. Came home had something to eat then out on the Le Mans only 30-40 miles as I didn't have a lot of fuel and it went onto r...

Went into the local Shell yesterday, they are closed 10.00 to 11.30 on Monday, so should be ok to fill up on the way out.

Monday 19th little jolly

Reckon next Monday might be a good day for a ride. Based on Lady Di's funeral I reckons the roads will be empty. Wife is going to watch it all on TV so I will have the day to myself. Thinking of going to Southwold, my only concern is petrol staions being open so I've got enough fuel to get home as i...

Re: Show Ponies

Mate has an RC30 in the dining room/office but it gets ridden as well, he went to the TT on it this year. There is also a RD500 in the conservatory and an RG500 in the garage next to a GT750. Any of them would do.

Copdock Bike show https://eastangliancopdockbikeshow.co.uk/ Is this Sunday. Not been before but might pop along. Invited the wife along as well but she's not sure she can last an hour on the back of the Le Mans in ill fitting bike gear and then stopping around in 24 degree heat.

Re: Strapless Helmet

Mate had a GPA strapless helmet back in 1986, bought in France after his helmet got nicked (it was attached to his Tenere). The shell was one piece but there were interlocking "C" shaped lowers hinged back and front. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/gpa-sj-strapless-helmet.77133/ He w...
