Re: Alles Gute zum Geburtstag to Tricky
Thanks all- we had a really nice time, despite the (f. freezing) weather. Don't think we'll be rushing back ,( Budapest and Prague were definitely more our thing), but glad we've been there and done all the usual tourist type stuff. It was good and the hotel we stayed at (Max Brown Ku'Damm ) was tip...

Re: 1951 Vincent Comet restoration / rebuild
According to the internet, the BT-H CDI magnetos have their share of breakdowns. If you’re going to have a good charging system, an “ordinary” electronic ignition kit, such as the Boyer Mk4 or Wassell/Vape might be a good bet. The simplest way to get a working fuel system is to use a new Amal Mk1 o...

Re: Is Racing Getting Too Expensive?
I've just watched that Bikeworld video,I'm a subscriber to the channel,it's great to see how much fun you can have for not much outlay at grass roots level,CB500's,Bandit's & MZ's spring to mind. I listen to a lot of bike racing podcasts & a common theme with racers looking back on their ca...

Re: Forever Single: A first look at the 2025 Suzuki DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM
I like the look of them, but if anything, they look even heavier than the original - they've quoted things like suspension travel and feel capacity, but not weight or power, so I'm reserving judgment until they do, and/or I ride one :) It's 20kg heavier than the original. And that wasn't exactly li...

1951 Vincent Comet restoration / rebuild
This, without doubt, is going to be a slow burner......... In fact, the subject of this thread has been lurking in many pieces in my sheds/garages for the best part of 10 years or so, and I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve done absolutely bugger all with it in all that time. It’s moved house with me...

As always, you still don't get it. Rhetoric. What are you suggesting I don't get? That my views are unpopular? I get that. I have an asshole following me around like little lost puppy who delights in unloading their own inadequacies on my alias? Yep got it. I can't understand why you can't see that...

Re: Is Racing Getting Too Expensive?
£316k to run a second hand Honda in BSB. Fook. Yup, just one bike, and it could be said it's on a shoestring compared to the top few teams, and I reckon they understated some stuff too- the wages and food costs Matt stated made me smile, I reckon my typical race weekend food costs are not far off t...

Re: First Look: The 2025 Krämer GP2-890 XX hypernaked track bike
Track bike without fairing? Just plain daft. Now as you can imagine, that part i don't agree with. Track riding isn't all about speed. The most fun i had on track in all my years was on my 690 Duke, which is not only unfaired, but massively underpowered too. It was all about 'playing' rather than l...

Prince of Pembrey meeting Oct25th - 27th As I mentioned a post or two ago, although the Bandit Challenge Championship is all done and dusted and the season from that perspective has ended, North Gloucester had one final race weekend scheduled for the weekend just gone, and I’d entered it As I think...

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've just got home and showered after three days at Pembrey circuit competing in what was definitely the most exciting and enjoyable motorcycle races I have ever had- I entered 3 classes on the Bandit, did 8 races over the Sat/Sun plus qualifying, warm-ups etc and the Friday test day,so loads of sad...

Re: John MacPhee leaves team.
After his 4 wins in Moto3, I did expect a bit better in WSS. ..... He was still racing at one of the highest levels this season, and as anyone who really knows anything about it knows, the higher you go the more competitive it is, and it takes more than "just" a good rider to be able to b...

Cor, is a long time since anyone has been in here! Yesterday one of Isabella's regular little gang of theatre goers dropped out which meant a spare ticket for Mrs Doutbtfire- usually I'd run a mile and rather stick wasps up my arse too than sit through a musical, but this one was supposedly a comedy...

Just caught up on it, absolutely top-drawer entertainment- they really couldn't have scripted a better end- again 8-) Great racing across pretty much every class , really does make MotoGP seem dull most of the time. And I was disappointed for Columbi in the sportbike, he deserved to be champ IMO- he...

Glad you're enjoying it @Tricky . When I samplied the off road world, I got fed up with falling off in mud, broken levers and getting covered in shit. Gravel tracks were good fun though. 👍 Shame you don't live further south, I reckon you'd love our rides ( you'd probably still fall off and get cove...

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
A day out on the lanes with a couple of decent blokes I'd never met or ridden with before- the amount of rain we've had coupled with chalk and rocks made it quite tough in places and we all had lie-downs now and again, burned a fair few calories dragging bikes out of holes once or twice too but a gr...
