Re: Anybody know anything about this type of hot water system?
That's a very basic system. You won't get much flow in a flat as theres no head of pressure. It looks like there may be a boost pump in the bottom left of the picture. Could be worth checking that it's turned on.

I have a vague recollection of putting a cd in the microwave. If I remember correctly it was pretty impressive.

I see what you mean. You could fit atop box between the fairing and forks!

Re: Would you have an electric car if you had the money for a new car and were in the market for one?
I've started to look into this more closely now, my youngest is about to fly the nest and I no longer need an ageing large family car.
BEV is still out of the running, high cost and charging issues mean it's a non-starter. Range itself isn't such a problem but time and availability of charging ...

Re: XSR900GP
I think that was the gist of it.
It rides lovely and feels proper quality, everything is finished to a high standard, the looks are definitely marmite though. I like it and it really does look better in the flesh.

If you can live with the looks a speed triple 1200 rr offers far better value for money. Triumph are knocking them out at 13k at the moment.

We're there on the 16th and hopefully Pembrey the following week end. The 30th will probably be the drop off weekend for our Portugal trip.

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
They heat a garage very well. I've an all in one unit in the garage at the moment and its drying it out nicely.
It's the second one I've used, the other is in the van, and they've proved to be very reliable. I just run it on diesel and nothing else.
How do you pipe your exhaust out? Is it ...

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
Decided to try the diesel heater. Will install it outside in steel box, drilling holes to get air in will be fun.

It's expensive to get there for us never mind the Canaries. It'd be a pain but could you hire a bike while you're there?

If funds allow hopefully another trip will be on the cards for later in the year.

Re: Trackdays 24...
After the washout of last year and the R1 dropping a valve hopefully this year will be better.
New engine new year.
Will be doing Pembrey and possibly Anglesey in March.
Portimao in April.
Anglesey with James Whitham in May.
Le Mans in August.
Depending how the dates work out I'll be trying to do ...

Yep, booked it on the weekend. It's a proper event. There'll be 3 of us travelling down. Hoping to try and tie it in with a couple of days at another circuit depending on timing.

Re: Find me a van then...
So we're coming up to 12 months in on the van now... Any regrets... Nope, none at all.
If i were being picky and really looking for something to regret, maybe something like a Vito which gets better MPG could have worked better... but then i'd have missed out on space and seating compared to the ...
