Fwiw I really like the look of the Desert X.
I've made a lot of rational vehicle purchases but the best ones have been where I just followed my heart and got what I really wanted.

3.5 years later, nothing has fallen off, broken or leaked.
After wandering around the NEC for 4 hours last week and sitting on 75% of the bikes on show there was nothing that compares, nothing that'd make me ask what I'd get in trade.

Re: New Hornet
According to my 'socials' it's been the press launch today.
I'm expecting reviews form all major outlets, shortly.
Have you seen the shot of someone exiting stage right on a mountain road during the jolly

Re: New bike(s) day
Those Harleys, they cost too much money,
A small bike was all he could buy,
He covers it up on his driveway,
And if anyone saw it he'd cry.

Re: Would you have an electric car if you had the money for a new car and were in the market for one?
That's not what the national grid reckon.
The peak was actually 2002, not 2016. I remembered it wrong.

So how come the National Grid is concerned about blackouts THIS winter, not if/when we all ...

Re: Would you have an electric car if you had the money for a new car and were in the market for one?
I'm guessing it wasn't at night.
I've posted on here before the paper from the National Grid which shows (in the UK) that even if everyone switched to an EV tomorrow demand would still be less than in was in 2016. Why 2016? That's when UK consumption peaked.
If everyone switched to an EV and ...

Waiting for the darkling earth to rise up and crush us to its harsh bosom. :(

The holy grail of self indulgent anecdotes...
Sometimes someone will attempt to indulge themselves at your expense with a lengthy anecdote of theirs.
The best response is to retort with one of your own which somehow trumps or betters theirs. Maybe to such an extent it belittles them due to the disparity.

My FiL (an accidental farmer) has been offered more than a field is worth for a 20 year lease to put panels on it.
I can't work out why the energy company wouldn't just buy it outright for less money. Assume it's some tax fiddle.
I'm currently considering a couple of fields (£70k-£100k each ...

Dropping off/picking up the wife tonight as she's out with her 2 mates of over 40 years.
Tomorrow I pick up my new (to me ) car. Back here to pick my wife and sister up and then off to visit my Daughter and her other half. Then back here where too much wine undoubtedly will be drunk.
Sunday ...
