Fuel pipe unclipped itself!
Yammie has a positive engagement QR clip on the fuel line from the tank.
Last time I took the tank off was Sept/Oct to fit the brake pipes. Done a good few hundred miles since then, but t'other day I was going out for a bimble and the bike stopped after 100yds and fuel was peeing down the side of the sprocket cover.
Had a looksee today and the clip was undone and pipe barely on.
You can't get to it without removing the tank, so not likely to be malicious, just wondered if anyone else has had an issue with such things?

Those clips are hopeless. These are much better although need to be carefully sized.

Re: Fuel pipe unclipped itself!
If it is one like Bob and I posted then have you secured it properly this time, can you pull it back off? If it’s on fine now I’d bet my bottom dollar you just hadn’t put it back on properly the last time, I’ve seen it before where they are on but not properly and take some time to come loose dependant on mileage and use of course, that could be a possibility.

Re: Fuel pipe unclipped itself!
Whenever I undo any QD fuel fittings like the ones wull and KFB posted, I always give the o-ring a wipe of silicone grease. The fitting goes together much more easily, there's far less chance of tearing the o-ring and suffering leaks and the grease extends the life of the o-ring dramatically.

Proper clip fastener. No way of accessing it other than taking the tank off, very confused.com

Re: Fuel pipe unclipped itself!
Similar to the one on my yamaha, pain in the arse thing, hard to get to and attaches to a flimsy plastic spigot on the fuel pump that gets me twitching every time I remove it.
There is a plastic clip that attaches over the push on fitting to prevent it seperating on mine, maybe yours is missing ?
Re: Fuel pipe unclipped itself!
When i had my BMW1000XR there were quite a few instances on the forum of bikes dumping fuel over the floor.
It was the quick release failing which caused it, some owners changed to an after market one of E Bay but i can't
remember which make.

Re: Fuel pipe unclipped itself!
The clip is either broken or it wasn't closed fully (easily done). If you can pull it apart when it's closed then replace it.
The only time I had one come undone was when I hadn't closed it fully.

I use these to clamp fuel hose onto barbed fittings. Far superior to jubilee worm drive clamps.
