A ton's worth of stupidity
While checking which battery I need for the TDR I managed to knock it over. That's one clutch cover that's not quite up to its job anymore.

Pah! I bet plenty on here can top that! Not me though. Oh no. You'll need witnesses to verify it. I've said too much!

I wonder if I accidentally scratch my stock wheels, could I get Mrs.Skub to believe a set of carbon wheels is the only sound option?

Re: A ton's worth of stupidity
I've found a replacement for about £40. And they only want £39.99 to deliver it to me. Time to start phoning round to see who'll take the job of posting it on to me. My usual accomplices are either away on holiday or recovering from an operation.

Aye, that would suit. I'm in no rush for it, if I collect I'll likely get a free cup of tea.

The brake lever poked into it hard enough to crack it. I'll post a pic later when I've taken the thing apart.Yorick wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:04 pm HTF ?

Re: A ton's worth of stupidity

Gasket face looks good, it looks like its been down the road on its side and been scabbled then smoothed off a bit but I can't see any evidence of it being cracked and it looks to me like it'll paint over just fine and most importantly, hold oil.
Clutch arm is a bit rusty but perfectly servicable, a wire brush would sort it.
It's possible I've missed something but it all looks fine to me.

And thanks

And possibly a bit more than a ton. The right hand foot peg snapped too, it fell off today when I moved the bike.
2YK-27421-00. This part is no longer available. Arse. It's not just bash on an aftermarket one as it has to fold and lock when you use the kickstart.

Re: A ton's worth of stupidity
I saw those shortly after I posted. Mine look nothing like those, they are longer, have rubber tops and the nodule that hits the road first.
Some investigation is in order, the bikes been modded so there might be other Yamahas with suitable pegs.

Re: A ton's worth of stupidity
Sounds like soemones just fitted generic fold backpegs to the mounts. Have they been filed down or owt?
The ones in the diagram look the same as the ebay listing and no x-ref to other models?
