Well, it's finally here. Paid up on Tuesday last week and asked to be contacted about getting it delivered. Heard nothing all week and called on Saturday to be told it would be with me within a couple of hours. Rolled off the van into the garage. I'd bought some Evotech bobbins and a radiator guard. So, fitted the bobbins no problem. Couldn't fit the rad guard as Yamaha have two sets of plastic rivets holding on the rad covers. Gave up in the end. Anyway, was giving it the once over and thought the optional flyscreen I'd bought looked a bit wrong, and very tight to the dash. Turns out they've forgot to put some tall washers in that lift it away from the dash. So, another phonecall in the morning to them. I'm bracing myself for the excuse of either why it happened or why they don't have the bits to sort it.
Anyway, here is a rear quarter shot. I've left out the headlight, don't want to offend too many here.
Didn't get out on it. The roads are still damp and covered in shit, and our estate is a mudbath from all the contruction work, so who knows when I'll get out on it.
It feels like much more bike than the Trident, and a bit special with the SP bits on it.

Nice one, post a picture of the plastic rivets, I suspect they're the ones were you push the middle down to remove them

Tried that, they just spin, even with the lightest of pressure. I'll try again another day.

Health to use and roll on the salt free roads.

Bike looks great. ..Go gentle when cleaning front indicators, they can pop out. Wouldn't the shop fit the extras foc, fitting.

They fitted the fly screen FOC. Incorrectly.
I bought my own rad guard as it was half the price of the genuine Yamaha rad guard.I’m in foul form over it now. The screws simply aren’t coming out. The only way is by drilling them out and I’m not doing that. I’ll just sell it and forget about a rad guard.

I have the evotech RG. Tbh I've never had a proper look at its fitting. I'll look later.

Re: Yamaha MT09SP
take to dealer... that's why you have warranty..
can you not access from other side ? At the end of the day it's a clip... sacrifice and fit nicer ones. But do not drill !

Re: Yamaha MT09SP
had it before, i think they have the crappiest thread ever... so it all just spins.
Basically, something very sharp/soft underneath the panel and offending item, should get it.
Usually a fingernail.... just gives it a tiny bit of tension it needs.

Re: Yamaha MT09SP
This any help at all?
I've seen similar on cars before & the centre pin pulls rather screws out.

Re: Yamaha MT09SP
It's only the screw centre that is turning, which is what it should be. The outer stays still. But, the thread isn't catching. I don't know if it's threaded because of what I've done (which is just turn the bastard). The opposite side was fine, turned them slowly and out they came.
Most car ones are pop type, so you can push the centre to release it. These are small screw heads. Yes, watched that video and every other one. Still doesn't help. Thanks thoughI've seen similar on cars before & the centre pin pulls rather screws out.
