It arrived in the US a week ago, Went dark for a few days then popped up in Commerce (LA suburb), Then it went to Bloomington 2 days ago, left yesterday & appeared in town here last night. It's currently getting a tour of West Lancaster in a USPS van & will show up here by tea time (allegedly)

Re: What have you done today thread?
Yoga. Lots of it the last couple of days. Little and often. I've got my mat rolled out next to my home working desk.
What I thought (hoped) was a pulled muscle in my back, I'm suspecting is my herniated disc gone 'pop' again. Not much to be done other than wait for swelling to go down. So far it's not caused me any sciatica, so that's a blessing. If I sit for any length of time getting up is a bloody nightmare. Ditto getting out of bed.
So I've set an alarm on my phone. On the hour, every hour I'm doing my sun salutations* which is good for stretching the back. That and copious amounts of drugs. I like to have an holistic mix of alternative remedies and scientific medicines.
Getting old is shit, though the alternative is worse.
*Give them a go. Great way to stretch out of a morning.

Re: What have you done today thread?
It is, but it was blinking cold.
And parking was £11.50 for six hours on that car park by the train station.
We always go to the Viking museum, then we have lunch in that little pub just off The Shambles that looks hundreds of years old.
Walking around was nice, with intervals to nip into pubs for a warmer, but by 3.30pm yesterday it was getting very cold so we made our escape.
I think most towns/cities have gone downhill in general though, York is no exception, there were boarded up shops, even one on The Shambles.
It's still nice though.

Boarded up shops is just 2022 for ya sadly. Even the big centre here, which is one of the "destination" shopping centres and usually petty immune (not a betting shop or taning salon in sight!), has empty units ATM.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I WENT SKIING!!!! Not just me, my nephew skied too
Of course, we are 1-0 on falls. Yup, I'm the one . Wasn't even skiing at the time FFS, has stopped at the lift, looked around for him and then fell over
But damn that was fun He's still out there but I have to do a transfer in a bit, so I quit early
What an awesome day. He's so happy to be here. Just loves the mountains, not just learning to ski.

Happy happy happy faces!
He has now beaten me well and truly on falls - I suspect because I wasn't there he was going faster! LOL But, all's well. He had a little snooze whilst I did a transfer and when I came back he asked - do you think I have time to do another couple of laps before we go for dinner. Sadly, not only were the lifts closed, but it was dark!
He's gonna bloody love ski school (I hope) - can't wait to see him afterwards and find out where they have skied

Re: What have you done today thread?
Today I have been mainly shovelling shit
Missus volunteers at an animal sanctuary so I had the bright idea of getting a load of manure for her veggie garden. I instantly got volunteered for the job
Filled 6 huge builder's buckets while she was pottering about and she was reet chuffed.
It was down a muddy path so couldn't take the GSXR so went on the GasGas.
It was a few miles on NSL roads so decided to take a short cut down a fun path. Only after a big jump did I remember I was only wearing t-shirt, shorts and sandals. Didn't want to crash on this terrain.
I came home a gentler way
When she gets home she might take me out for a treat

Discovered my chest waders aren't entirely leak proof.
Drove home wearing a hoody, underpants and work boots, hoping I didn't get stopped, the car didn't break down or get called out.

While she was pottering away, a couple of the young lads went fishing.Yorick wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 6:01 pm Today I have been mainly shovelling shit

They came back with 5 parrot fish and kindly gave Penny one.
Just had it for tea. Very nice

Re: What have you done today thread?
I did that today as well. First time in two weeks it's been sunny enough to run the washing machine without taking any charge out of the solar batteries.

I'm at the age where I could appreciate having the washer/dryer on those raised doodads as bending down & reaching onto the damn things to unload them isn't much fun.

Re: What have you done today thread?
A horrible task. I don't think I've washed our car in years,in fact I don't recall the last time I had the Poles do it...maybe last Winter.
