Re: What have you done today thread?
I went on a 1-2-1 bike ride today.
Initially I was nervous - then slowly I relaxed.
I made 'one error' - where I was not 'left enough' on a turn ( I realised I was in a driver position when the instructor pulled up next to me and said' this is why you should be further over!!
And I missed one life saver - ( recon that would be a major) .. I'm not 100% sure on where to look on roundabouts - is it .. right shoulder up to 12 - left after? - both sides - shut my eyes and hope for the best??
Feels like I'm getting there (all be it slower over the winter)

Re: What have you done today thread?
Handful of photos from yesterday. My phone didn't cope with the cold, so had to wait for Becky to put her's up!! LOL
All smiles at the start of the day After a ton of poling and closed chairs/rope pulls and I was loosing my sense of humour/patience/will to continue!!
Heading back home on a chairlift with a cover - finally a less cold chairlift!! Should have had warm seats, but that function wasn't working!
So, after spending two hours getting to the bit of Les Arcs she wanted to get to, to then sit in a restaurant by the fire to warm up for over an hour, we made a decision/agreement that next year, when I have a car (and if she isn't sprogged up by then), I'm sodding well driving us to the valley to get the first lift up to Les Arcs and then the first lift out of 1650 to get across to 2000.
We did ski there and back, but can't say we actually did any of the pistes she 'wanted' to do and it has compounded my lack of interest to ski from here across to there and back in a day!!
Still - beautiful views tho!

Re: What have you done today thread?
1. Ordered £1300 worth of CH boiler and flues for fitment in summer
2. Bought a 6 ft aluminium pole and mounting brackets to bolt a Poynting wifi antenna/amplifier to the roof on the France gaff. It's the only way I can get reliable PAYG internet in France.
3. Made pizza. Now relaxing with a delightful little red number from Provence.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent some time in the backyard with my spiffy new binocs mounted on a tripod looking *up*. Could clearly see the bands on Jupiter, had a butchers at Castor & Bollocks, Betelguese, Rigel, Sirius & others.
Would have looked at Mars, but it was directly overhead & I didn't want to lay on the ground & risk getting fucked up by a scorpion.
Handy having the Stellarium app on my phone to tell me WTF I'm looking at.

Yes mate. Cant ride it and things have got worse if anything. So its sitting there costing money and returning nothing. Makes no sense to keep it. If I get my knee sorted I can always get another. Not like there's a shortage of them!Skub wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 2:50 pmAre you punting it on?Taipan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 1:54 pm Put the standard exhaust, seat and reg plate on the MT-09. Pre-flighted the ZX11 for tomorrow, went to Costco, gassed up the ST, restored the baseboard that I removed last week because of the roof leak, ate a dozen tequitos, ordered a T shirt from Amazon.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Rode 202 miles, froze my ass off on the way home, been back 3 hours, I'm still cold.
Was mostly sensible, didn't bust 125mph all day. Mulholland was a mess, tons of rocks piled up at the side of the road from the storms, water flowing across the road in dozens of places as it drained from the hills. They'd scraped one corner earlier in the week & left 1/4in of mud covering the road side to side & about 50ft long that had dried out & basically been polished by cars. It was like hitting ice. Almost binned it.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just spent an hour cleaning a mouldy fridge. I turned off the beer fridge in the patio bar as it's dry January.
But forgot to leave the door open.
Was disgusting

I know, dry January is a truly disgusting phenomenon.
