Re: N.Y.E. Plans ?
I shall shortly be departing upon a journey to the shops about a mile away where I will purchase wining tickets for both the Friday MegaMillions & Saturdays Powerball lotteries.
Then I shall return home & await delivery of some face masks that have "This mask is as useless as our governor" printed on the front
Later, I will probably be awakened by the usual NYE gunfire. Last year it sounded like opening day on the Somme & lasted about two hours.
Edit: Part One accomplished, now working on Part two while I eat some toast.

In bed asleep by 11:30 and missed the new year coming in, although the fireworks woke me briefly. First time as a grown up that i've missed it! Anyway, HNY everyone.

I've reached full grump. I was pissed off with everyone spending more than an hour settnig off fireworks.

Re: N.Y.E. Plans ?
They started in earnest here at 11:50, with the final few by 01:30. Some sounded more like siege weapons. However, it was thick freezing fog, so there was nothing to see apart from occasional brief coloured glow.Taipan wrote: Fri Jan 01, 2021 6:55 am missed the new year coming in, although the fireworks woke me briefly.

Us too. We had a Zoom session starting at 9pm with old friends and by 11pm we were so shit faced that we had to go to bed!

Re: N.Y.E. Plans ?
I have a little pot of homemade Sloe Gin that was sent to me for Christmas by TC. I was planning on toasting the new year in with that but the cloud last night and this morning kyboshed that plan!!MingtheMerciless wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:36 pm on the sloe gin, not sure I'm gonna make midnight............
However, it is looking a bit brighter so there is a vague possibility that I might walk down instead of up and go to a lake (that will be frozen over!) and look across to Mont Blanc!
Or, I might just hang fire and hope for a clear night the next full moon and go for a midnight walk then!!!
NYE isn't very cheery for me after last year and I struggled to get positive - and TBF, I'm thinking I might give 2021 a couple of weeks before I celebrate
In fact, I've just decided. Next full moon I'll go out and mix sloe gin with bubbles (still got a bottle from last year's birthday!) and celebrate a late NY!!
