I heard the same but took it as a challenge.

There's a small brewer out here doing 5ltr 'barrels' - I just don't think I can drink 5 litres before it goes off!! LOL

I kind of miss the smell when I pass by Burton these days
Worst hangover I ever had was getting unconscious drunk on Newcastle Brown Ale.
I thought it was just a saying when people said "I couldn't get my head off the pillow" but when I woke up in the morning I had great difficulty raising my head off the pillow, it was like a temporary paralysis.

I didn't shit myself though

Mr. Dazzle wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:03 pm Beer is trendy again in the UK now Harry, there are micro breweries everywhere. TBF they're mostly doing American style craft beers, but there are plenty of real ale places too.

TBH I much prefer craft beer now anyway...as I've said loads of times, the good stuff is produced with all the enthusiasm of real ale but it's served chilled.

You won't struggle to find a pub selling local beer IME. Even here in MK, where there are very few "real" pubs, there are a couple of places.
Nah, micro pub is where it's at nowadays

My local sells Cruzcampo on draught.
Most pubs serve San Miguel and Estrella on draught.
Local beers Dorada and Tropical popular in bottles.

I shall shortly be departing upon a journey to the shops about a mile away where I will purchase wining tickets for both the Friday MegaMillions & Saturdays Powerball lotteries.
Then I shall return home & await delivery of some face masks that have "This mask is as useless as our governor" printed on the front :)

Later, I will probably be awakened by the usual NYE gunfire. Last year it sounded like opening day on the Somme & lasted about two hours.

Edit: Part One accomplished, now working on Part two while I eat some toast.

We went out for a sail in the end, then hung about at the marina for a bit chatting to people, watched the fireworks, then came home, just got in and I'm off to bed, it's 0130.

Same here.

I've reached full grump. I was pissed off with everyone spending more than an hour settnig off fireworks. :D

They started in earnest here at 11:50, with the final few by 01:30. Some sounded more like siege weapons. However, it was thick freezing fog, so there was nothing to see apart from occasional brief coloured glow.
