The trouble I have with a lot of these homages is that they look a bit kit car replica shite.

I had the 8, unbelievably awesome cars, mine was a tad mental.

I wanted the nine just because of the rear splitter underneath.

Mine was fitted with the Evo 9 rear bumper and diffuser. A lot of folk fit the Evo 9 front bumper too but I never bothered, I think the new owner has as I stumbled across pics of it the other month there. I wish I had kept that car.

Have you driven a Capri, the Mk1 is better than the later cars, but I prefer the rwd Escorts and Sierras to drive, Sierra is probably the best rwd car Ford have made.

LED lightbars have taken over up here Full width of the car and frequently roof mounted.

I had a bright yellow Mk1 GTI.
Scrapped it IIRC because I ran it dry of oil.

It'd probably be worth stupid money now even with a seized engine.

I had a Mk2 GTi 8v, it was great car back in the day but my wee Fabia would utterly destroy it. It's still around apparently!

I'd have done just about anything for one of the those back then - a mate had a 1.9 GTi, I had an R5 GT Turbo & I was envious. Looking back I think I was better off.

I wouldn't want one now though, everything's moved on so much.

Pug was a much better motor though. Especially in 1.9 form. A lot of wee XS 205's got 1.9s from a 405 shoehorned into them. Putting a 1.7 Renault 11 motor into a R5 wasn't unknown either.
