Re: Classic Fords
I don't think that is worth £100k, never mind £1M.
Look at the panel lines between the front wheel arch and the front door. Ugh!

Re: Classic Fords
The trouble I have with a lot of these homages is that they look a bit kit car replica shite.
Singer nail it with their 911s, this doesn't do it for me. The MAT Stratos on the other hand....

I drove it like Miss Daisy
It was almost double the power as standard, Norris spec
Re: Classic Fords
This car is beauty to the eye, an all time classic. I love it, I would love me an all glossy black one for myself.

Re: Classic Fords
Mine was fitted with the Evo 9 rear bumper and diffuser. A lot of folk fit the Evo 9 front bumper too but I never bothered, I think the new owner has as I stumbled across pics of it the other month there. I wish I had kept that car.

Re: Classic Fords
Have you driven a Capri, the Mk1 is better than the later cars, but I prefer the rwd Escorts and Sierras to drive, Sierra is probably the best rwd car Ford have made.

Re: Classic Fords
It's a shame spot lamps seem to have gone out of fashion.
I remember my mate fitting them to pretty much every car he had in the late 90s.
I don't miss those blue light up washer jets tho'.
I wonder if i can fit some to my Ovlov?

Pedestrian impalers are banned on new cars, that's why
That EVO37 will be under various exhibition car certifications, depending on which market it's sold in.

There's a half hearted comeback in rural NI, but a Mk5 Golf looks a bit shite with spotlights on it.

I had a Mk2 GTi 8v, it was great car back in the day but my wee Fabia would utterly destroy it. It's still around apparently!

Re: Classic Fords
I'd have done just about anything for one of the those back then - a mate had a 1.9 GTi, I had an R5 GT Turbo & I was envious. Looking back I think I was better off.
I wouldn't want one now though, everything's moved on so much.
And that interior looks like a tart's boudoir.

Re: Classic Fords
Pug was a much better motor though. Especially in 1.9 form. A lot of wee XS 205's got 1.9s from a 405 shoehorned into them. Putting a 1.7 Renault 11 motor into a R5 wasn't unknown either.ChrisW wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 6:41 pm I'd have done just about anything for one of the those back then - a mate had a 1.9 GTi, I had an R5 GT Turbo & I was envious.
