So putting pineapple on pizza is pretty tame, then...?
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

Re: Crimes against Gastronomy
It's a thing in Italy. I've seen it often and tried it once, although it's done more as a calzone affair and the dough seems to be sweetened as well, then the whole thing is sliced into quarters and dusted with sugar, just to ensure a cardiac arrest within 20 minutes.
Wouldn't rush back for seconds. Mind you, if you indulge on a regular basis, I doubt you're the sort of person who rushes anywhere.

It always suprises me that Nutella is Italian. You'd think such a sickly chocolate spready affair would be American.gremlin wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 1:10 pm It's a thing in Italy. The clue of course is in the name. Nutella. It's supposed to be mostly hazelnuts and chocolate innit*? Hotel Chocolat do a pretty good version which is what Nutella used to be like before it became 80% sugar and oil, it works much better in dishes like that.

Obviously gianduja is the posh version. As praline is meant to be made with almonds but generally isn’t.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 3:39 pmIt always suprises me that Nutella is Italian. I've never understood why "the internet" decided this was such a crime?
But I've been known to put pineapple in chilli, so what do I know ?!

Pineapple fritters - the food of the Gods (if they went to a Chip Shop in the 1970s)

Re: Crimes against Gastronomy
LOL Loads of people up here have the curry pizzas!! Also the Tartiflette pizza - you've got bacon, cheese and pizza base, but hey, lets add potatoes as well - and probably an egg too!
Yup they put a barely cooked egg on half the pizzas here
And people have the cheek to call me weird cos I like pineapple on a pizza!! LOL
But, thats definitely not a crime against gastronomy!!??!!
Almost De rigueur I reckon
It's the old sweet and sour thing. It's ok with Chinese but pizza and people spazz out!!
And, apparently telling people to chill about pineapple on pizza cos "we've all had cheese and pineapple on sticks" is showing ones age

I often get surprised comments for egg on pizza too....its a classic. Besides, most savoury dishes can be improved with a bit of oozey egg yolk.

I am not sure about it - but then I'm a bit picky about what egg gets mixed with. Don't like it near beans or tomato, so tend not to have either of those on a breakfast!!!Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 6:47 pm I often get surprised comments for egg on pizza too....its a classic. Equally, I don't think it's wrong or tell people its weird!! I might think it is a bit weird on some pizzas but each to them's own!! As long as they let me enjoy my pineapple on pizza in peace!!

My wife's favourite, normally with extra pineapple on too!
Just had a look at the local Pizza place menu and they do kebab ones, 3 salami ones, Chinese ones, Chicken tikka ones etc...

Well, one pizza place does a honey and ham pizza (with goats cheese) so I get them to add pineapple to it!!
