You'll note the unusual side order of prunes. Those co-codamol pills proper bung me up, so they're insisting I eat a bowl of prunes at every opportunity. All I'm gonna say is: they work.
But, have you had a pee yet??????

Shame about the erection...
Yup, the downside of my view is indeed the 'giant blue dick' (my French friend's description) or otherwise described as the Big Blue Dildo!!

Would love to have the view back that didn't have it - but I'll have to move to achieve that now :(

TBF, I did buy the place mostly based on the view (and the fact that because it's so small, it was cheap!) but that was before the built the bus station and put a cafe on top, who then decided that a big blue dildo in my eye line was a good things :angry-cussingblack:

Yeah, with tea as well

If he'd had coffee he (being a fan of Italy) could at least claim it's a 'caffè corretto'.

(Coffee correct - it corrects your hangover  ).
No, that's coffee, in a tea pot.

Having had a fair few caffe corretti in my time, I suspect that one, on top of the pills I'm being given, would render me a dribbling wreck for the next 24 hours. :o

And the 'cognac' is cranberry juice. Also insisted upon for reasons I can't fathom.

Yes!!! Redder than than the cranberry juice and felt like I was pissing acid, but managed to pee into one of the three paper bottles given to me. Well most of it went in. Due to the catheter stretching things that aren't designed to be stretched, it was more like a lawn sprinkler than a sniper-like stream.

One down, two to go.

Cranberry juice is supposedly very good at reducing the risk of urine infections.

If nothing else, this experience has given me the opportunity to use the line, 'Have you got anything to take away the pain but keep the swelling?'.

Had similar after my skull op. Hourly checks but, because it was spinal, also with sensation in feet and 'ask a silly question' checks.

At 6am the silly question was 'Do you know where you are?' Yes, Southampton hospital, because I can hear the bloody seagulls.

Yesterday but then I'm always a bit behind the times.

Had to see the dentist as I've had some discomfort for a few days. She told me that my discomfort was not the main issue but my broken tooth and missing filling was more of a priority and we'll do it now. Removed all the crap, new white filling and done and dusted in 45 minutes. 2000 TL please - £51.

While in town I took the opportunity to price up some stainless steel bar and a lump of bms bar for a counterweight for the telescope rig*. All in, £22 so they were cut and are currently being machined into useful objects. That'll cost me £15 I reckon so £37 all together. The OE counterweight bar would be £42 alone in UK.
A 5 kg counterweight? Probably £70.

*MY telescope mount doesn't need a counterweight for my telescope, it's a strain wave motor so can handle weight easily but in some positions the weight of the telescope could cause the whole rig to tip over. The cb will help prevent that.

I then stuck my head into the local timber merchants and bought a 3 metre length of 50mm x 50mm pine for a bird table leg. £2.20.

Pretty good day all round.

Got woken by the nurse again at 3am to take blood pressure and sats

Got woken by the nurse at 4am only to be asked, 'Would you like anything?'
My first instinct was to reply, 'Yes, I'd like to be asleep at 4am in the morning!', but I meekly replied 'No thank you'

Woken again at 5am for blood pressure and sats.

Then at 6am had the fattest catheter tube you've ever seen removed from my bellend. My eyes have only just stopped watering. Turned down the offer of a giant nappy. Need to have a piss au naturale else another catheter is being shoved up there. Currently drinking a fsir bit of water.
I didnt take a leak after a general aneasthetic, so they said if you haven't gone in the next hour, you'll have to have a catheter. I sat watching waterfall videos (there really are such vids on yt) hoping for the best...

It is good for cistitis, or how ever you spell it.

Didn't know you were ill. Are you Prince Charles?

Interesting fact, I’ve never seen King Charles and Gremlin in the same room, yet they are both having similar operations today. Just saying, Interesting!!!

Spent the afternoon on french D roads because the French farmers decided to block the A20 in various places which was a tad inconvenient.

All because they are generally unhappy with their lot.

Anyway vive la resistance🇫🇷

I showed my solidarity by resting a fabulous french faux filet prepared by the missus for my buffday tea👴

Tonight I'm off to see W1P again who I consider to be better than the genuine Pink Floyd based on the fact that the bass player can actually sing, unlike that miserable twat Waters who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

Not being able to carry a tune made him a lot of money (Y) I was looking to see the Australian Pink Floyd as they are meant to rock. They came to Edinburgh but i thought it was the real thing looking at the ticket price.
