I know but I have stupid and irrational spending habits. Afternoon tea at the Ritz? Bargain. Threepence for a recoil starter? HOW MUCH? One of the reasons is I don't need the water pump so don't want to spend money on it, however little that might be. Afternoon tea at the Ritz on the other hand, well I counting the days until I can do it again.
There's probably a pop psychology name for it.

Today, I've been reminded that 6 years ago yesterday I'd summited Mt Ararat in N. E. Turkey.
Arguably, we went too fast but did spend the day at around 4200 metres and acclimatised.
I'm still fuckin' knackered, mind.

Thanks for the offer but I'll find something up here one day. There's no rush. If I'm bored enough I'll pull the engine off this and replace the clone on another generator.

Been for a walk with the dog without a mask. It felt strange after so long, but the law has now been changed and only need masks when in bars etc.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I was chilling and getting ready to be productive (I have a list!!) and then I heard some pretty awesome engines! Figured it was just one or two. But nope. Blooming loads of 'supercars' and a few other types, more interesting ones!!!
I spent about 2 hours standing outside with other people - the drivers, passengers and locals looking on. All maskless. Was a bit weird but kinda cool. No one got close to anyone but it was a nice relaxed couple of hours, with awesome noises and pretty things to look at!
When my phone has recharged (and probably after I've been swimming) I'll see if any of the photos I took are any good!! LOL

Took the wife's Ovlov in for a service, came back looking like it was cleaned by Stevie Wonder with a bath sponge

I once went back into a dealership garage to ask them for a bucket of soapy water and a cloth so I could clean the windows properly so I could see to drive. The receptionist soon got someone to do it for me.v8-powered wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 11:48 am Took the wife's Ovlov in for a service, came back looking like it was cleaned by Stevie Wonder with a bath sponge
I also got to a dealers to pick my car up that had been there since 8am and it was past 5pm, they just needed 5 more minutes… 45mins later they insisted on giving me a free valet as I’d been so patient. When I finally got back into the car, half of the dash was still detached and clearly wasn’t finished. I didn’t pay for the labour that time as the General Manager who’d sold me the car was appalled at the fact I’d been sat there for over an hour after the car had been sat for 9 hours.
I now use a small independent specialist, no courtesy car, no dirty bucket of water, and significantly cheaper. There is a valeting company in the next unit which does an excellent job and gets quite a lot of work from the specialist’s customers. Win win!

It's bloody cold today,a stiff North wind making it feel much colder than the piddly 13 degrees. I'll be having the full heated gear on for the bike tomorrow!

Woke up at 7am. Lovely lie in. Did a lot of tidying up, took son for his first hair cut in over a year! He now has short back and sides and is so much happier. Took him down to Charlton Football Stadium so he could get his Pfizer Vaccination as he is over 18 and wanted to get that sorted.
Took the wife shopping for a few bits and pieces for the garden and now we have lots of bird food too and more food for cooking...
Back to my study, finished sermon and now getting ready for tomorrows services.
Dinner and something nice to drink a bit later on.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Pool opened today so I went swimming! Arrived at opening time, swam and did physio exercises for about 30 mins - basically a private pool for me!! Bet it won't be so quiet the rest of the summer!!!
Well chuffed, did 10 lengths (it's not a huge pool) and I think I'd got to maybe 8 back in March - but after swimming and exercises then I was quite hurty. Today, whilst I am quite tired, I don't hurt - so, somehow, I must have built some muscle up in the arm!
I did try to do a crawl stroke but couldn't actually get my right arm out of the water!! So have to stick to breast stroke for a while longer!! LOL At least I no longer swim like a three legged frog
