Summer is over now. The new season is now here, the new improved global warming Brexit Summer, rightly named "Wetter".

Was out on Monday night, out to Hope and home on Snake Pass. Really quite cold, and my hands were really cold. I suffer from Raynauds which is a pain. I'd also removed my jackets internal gillet which was a bad move!

Maybe it'll get warm in September!
Dunno mate, it's been glorious down this way until the last 24 hours, the duvet has been lobbed off the bed every night for the last 2 weeks or more. I was sweating just putting my helmet on the other day.
It's kinda warmed up to 14 now the sun is out,but early morning runs are still in single figures.

Perhaps I'm getting old! :silent:

I've only used my mesh jacket so far this year, and bloody moan like a bitch about how hot my Hood jeans are.

It's been T shirt weather at work for weeks now and I've never seen as many hares in my life.
I honestly can't see how people can be cold, or at least not round here anyway.

Mind, from Sept to December I reckon I maybe spent about a week working inside and yeah, we got rained off sometimes by the afternoon (working by Windermere so it rains a LOT) but there wasn't a single day that was too cold.

I was riding from 7am and it was three hours in before the temps crept into double digits, the last hour was a bit warmer.

I can see me having the heated gear on the whole 'Summer' at this rate.

So we are into July now and the weather is still pony on the whole. Odd bit of sun but mostly showers and forecast like that for the next week as well. Grrrr

I was out last night on the MTB - okay whilst pedalling around but when we stopped at the pub, I found myself shivering ... it's July FFS.

It's warmed up a bit here and around mid day, early afternoon it's a very pleasant high teens, but I do most of my longish rides in the early morning and the temps drop dramatically at night and are slow to rise again.

Still the Winter lining in my jacket and I'm beginning to think it won't come out. I have tried it for one ride and put it straight in again for the next. Those days when I can't wait to get my sweaty gear off when I stop just haven't happened this year.

Most of mine is lunch/daytime, bit must admit I'm struggling a bit with where and why at the moment. I can't go for 150 miles at lunch or to a pub for 2 hours and see mates, so it's just riding for the sake of riding, which I'm ok with at times, but not all the time.

Hoping to be at Silverstone later this month.

Local MTB trails are as bad if not worse than winter as they're just as slippery but the undergrowth is on steroids and the stingers have become evil. Most of my riding is XC at the moment, it should be perfect dusty single track every ride this time of year.

There's a forest I ride through sometimes,it's where a young German hiker was murdered years ago,but no one was ever charged. The temperature feels like it drops 10 degrees, just for that part of the road.

Almost like the place is in permanent mourning.
