Why a bloody 250? Couldn't they have made it a 350 for only a slightly bigger price tag? The cycle parts would handle the extra capacity. It's not like anyone's going to race it.
Wouldn't cost anymore to make it a 350, a 500 or a 750, big pistons cost the same to make as little pistons

Yes, absolutely. But 350 twins have a long and illustrious (?!) history, whereas 500 twins are much scarcer. Just boring it out to 350cc would improve rideability at lower revs, and the state of tune wouldn't need to be so high, improving reliability. Limiting it to 250cc is madness. Anywhere between 350 and 400cc would be the sweet spot for me.

90's two stokes were 250, people who reminisce about 80's 350's are OLD!

It's obviously aimed at a specific demographic.

No doubt that if they sell enough 250's that they'll launch a special edition 500 one for double the money.

Yeah, guilty as charged :D But Yamaha were still producing RD350s into the early 90s (albeit made in Brazil). Anyone who fancies a 250 would (I humbly submit) be even happier with a 350 (+). I agree that as a GP race class, 350s died out in the early 80s, whereas 250s continued until 2010. But anyone who is really into two-strokes would prefer the larger engine. If Suzuki or Yamaha had produced an RGV350 or TZR350 they'd have cleaned up.

They are not - and they are quick ....
But they are very niche, support for parts is a little flaky - and the brand is tits up ....
And they are a little challenging looking

Apart from the ridiculous balloon tyres I quite like that.

Old stylie XR750 flat trackers have the side pod airfilters which I guess they got the styling from.

Find whoever did that and punch them in the face. Repeatedly.
