This means I get to do a blackadder “bOb” loads of times a day...
He was a rocket. At night I had endless fun getting him to chase the light from a torch. During the day he only ever chased shadows of birds and spent hours every day staring at the ground waiting for the next attack.

Yesterday I came across this video:
Which lead to me buying this on Amazon:
Did a WallyWorld run & came across a jacket I just had to buy. Similar to the M65 for $25 in black, beige, OD green & gray. Got me the green version.

Raclette on those machines is freaking awesome!! Usually only in restaurants, partly cos the quarter or half a cheese they put on is somewhat expensive to buy!! LOL Best fun is either a half cheese challenge or two people attacking a quarter from each side!! Yeah, we have low expectations for fun!! LOLMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 5:48 pmI just googled Raclette because I always get it mixed up with Rillettes and I couldn't remember which was which. My googling did not disappoint, check out this marvelous contraption.Noggin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:26 pm Had an awesome Sunday roast that I didn't cook (TBF, I haven't cooked one for myself for a blooming long time!). Not quite sure where the sage n onion stuffing was, but didn't like to mention that!! LOL It seemed churlish as we had raclette last night and drank far too much (for me) G&T and then port!! LOL (Two ex navy officers in charge - port was definitely flowing!! )
Kinda cool to have food cooked for me.. Doesn't happen often!!

The raclette my friends have in their chalet is similar to this -
Theirs is round and has two layers of heating element! Something they hadn't tried is cooking an egg in one tray, cheese in another and pouring both over ham and potato on the plate
This is the half cheese version usually found in restaurants up here
Downside is that the one you posted and the half usually end up with serious cheese babies for 12-24 hours!! At least the domestic ones don't seem to encourage you too much as it's done with slices of cheese. But - like anything buffet-like, very easy to keep on going
Very necessary to have salad/sliced raw veg with it to help with the digestion!! LOL

Watching the end of some 999 program last night there was a bloke who chopped his arm of with a mitre saw and I casually mentioned to my wife that was the new tool I bought last week, cue half an hour of her worried I was going to do the same. I chose not to mention that I have more dangerous tools out there.

Why ???
I'm still resisting...
I did notice a lack of activity on the RTTL Facebook account, but TBH with the forum going as it is, i'm not inclined to join the FB thing still..

Re: What have you done today thread?
I asked the missus if she'd heard when the yoga classes were starting up again....her answer, 'It's on her Facebook page'. Ditto the gym news, they're only on FB. Seems that it's the only way small businesses communicate these days, which is fair enough. I have no interest in posting endless pictures of my dinner/dog/kid nor updating thew world on my latest bowel movement or random thought, but for keeping up to date with family it may have it's benefits, although one of the first pictures to assail me when I signed up was my sister's Staffie grinning inanely at the camera.
In addition, I took delivery of some gym equipment for the home gym recently, the guy asked me to post some photos on Facebook when it was installed to give his business a bit of a push. I told him I didn't have FB. He did that slow blink thing, as if he were talking to a simpleton. Figured maybe it was time....

Re: What have you done today thread?
Finished off a bakewell tart, well two. Finished off as in put the icing on them! LOL Haven't tried it yet
Cut one up and shared it to various friends. The smaller one was boxed and given to a friend to freeze for her hubby's birthday in a couple of weeks :D
Also met the hubby to give him some of the cut bakewell for their journey back home to the south!! He thinks I should bake as a business - but I'd need somewhere with an actual kitchen before I could try and sell cakes!! LOL

I've given up opening new FB accounts only to have them closed as suspicious. They get closed as i won't tell FB as much as they want, they don't need my marital status etc.
I'm currently drinking tea before going outside to do some work.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Woke not too early. Had coffee, took coffee to the wife. Woke daughter up for school as she is taking the bus. Then joined Zoom meeting.
Decided to wash the bike and clean the screen and windows on the car, inside and outside.
Hung up the washing and started a slow cook lentil curry. Will add the cauliflower this evening for the finishing 1/2 hour of the cook. Should be lush with a nice Viognier I have chilling in the fridge.

WFH today, so i started at 07:30 and was done by midday. Headed off to Tesco to get the Step Mothers shopping then dropped the roof on the BMW, turned the volume up too loud on the sounds and headed off to Romford and back, generally furthering peoples opinions that all BMW drivers are wankers!

Re: What have you done today thread?
I had planned to go to the swimming pool today but then it snowed big and I lost interest!! I'm sure it wouldn't have been that bad - warm pool and it's not quite freezing so my head wouldn't have got too cold!! But I wimped out.
Gonna have to go tomorrow as I told the physio I would and I'm seeing him tomorrow afternoon!! LOL
So I've sat and worked out the figures for the cost of making the cakes for a friends chalet last week. It's really hard to put a price on something you do for fun. She bought most of the ingredients, so I've suggested a price per cake plus a few quid to cover the expensive ingredient I had to use.
If I charge 'real' money for an hourly rate, the cakes get really expensive - still cheaper than the boulangerie, but expensive!!
She's just messaged to say she's going to pay me almost twice what I suggested. So that's pretty cool
Went to my favourite little cafe bar to take in a sample of the Bakewell Tart I made yesterday - he thinks I should set up an English Tea Room!! LOL LOL TBH, I'd bloody love to. Not convinced it would make a ton of money but it'd be fun. Downside is that there just wouldn't be a venue here that I could rent for sensible money to make that sort of business viable

Re: What have you done today thread?
Tonight I had sprouts and it's not even Xmas.
Was on way back from doggy beach walk and saw a bar was doing a midweek roasty. I don't normally eat meals in Brit bars, but I know they do good roasts.
The missus is out with her pals tonight, so a no brainer really.
Awesome Yorkshires and gorgeous collie cheese.
Quaffed 2 pints and left a whole 9 Euro lighter, including tip.
Sat here happy at not having to cook or wash up

Re: What have you done today thread?
Car needed a service, MOT, new back brakes and back tyres today. My wallet hurts but not as bad as last year when I broke two wheels in potholes as an extra bonus.
