My lad is a little bit older so I bought one of these for him in the lockdown to build. Supposed to take about 10 hours, which is about right if you spray it etc.

not massively, just something to pass time and a bit of bonding for me and the lad. It's just some fun entertainment for the 2 of us :)

Does the Grasshopper still come with a 380 motor or is it now a 540? I had in one the 80’s and it had the 380 motor. It was so slow compared to mates Hornets it was untrue!
Moved to a Hotshot. They were ace!
Now running a Neo Scorcher with a few hop ups. Updated suspension and steering (the blue ally bits). Just changed the stock 540 for an HPI 15t motor today. Ran well but needs to bed in.
Was going to put photo up but they’re upside down for some reason?!

Comes with the smaller motor. We have a 540 being sent by a mate to true. Apparently people stick in a different pinion gear to compensate for the power, but we may just try it for now

You're the first to have issues with that, are they hosted or are you attaching?

Cool. The 540 makes a lot of difference!
It is strange the two pics I took of the Neo Scorcher were the only ones that were upside down. I tried in the trial zone some other pics, and they were fine. Strange. I was uploading them via the attachment tab. As I say, worked for some other photos but not those two. Ah well. Not the end of the world! Cheers. Jim

Just clocked the pinion comment. I wouldn’t run it on the one from the 380. I remember when I was 14 I wrote to Tamiya in Japan and got them to send me the correct pinion for the Grasshopper with the 540 fitment. They sent a great pack back though bless ‘em

Ok that’s weird. I took this photo on an iPhone in portrait mode. Yet it rotates it 90 degrees when uploaded.
I’ve left it so you can see I’m not going mad. This photo is defo the right way up when I took it and on my phone.

Just tried a couple of other photos. Same 90 degree change when uploading. Well that’s me not bothering with any photos then! Odd. First forum I’ve used where that happens. 8-)

Adamski used to have the same problem on TRC, he also used an iPhone. I don't know what the cure is.

Well the 540 motor came and was fitted. The Grasshopper has turned into the psycho insane lunatic from hell !

It's absolutely out of control and trying to turn just leads to cartwheels !!!!! It's just bonkers now !!!!
