It's not so bad as winter tyres are legally mandated for the winter and they do come and grit every road in Huskvarna, it's just a pita not having a garage and having to scrape snow off every morning to get to work lol

But the car is so nice to drive. Driven it back to the UK twice now and it was so nice to drive distance without getting backache. The polo I had before absolutely killed my back just driving Milton Keynes to Kent and back.

Had a winter near Jokkmokk, 4ft of snow that year so not too deep according to the locals, the poles beside the roads to show the snow plough where to go were about 6ft high.
I had a S80 for a few years it was the most comfortable car I have ever owned also the best Hi FI which was a dynaudio system. economy let it downt doing 1000miles a week killed it swapped for a 520d touring m sport

I would have loved Rod’s B5 - but then decided running costs ( and The amount of torque being put though the box etc) would not make it a sensible choice ...

the box is not likr the M5 and is the tiptronic autobox which has no problem with the torque. weak point is the supercharger occasionally lets go.
its very easy to drive sensibly equally the loud pedal is rather addictive.

Doing well at keeping the rust at bay or is that what the black on the sills are hiding? My new bus is fibreglass and alloy so just the original LDV floor and chassis to treat and i should be rust free for a good few years.
A little over 2 years ago I spent 3 weeks replacing the sills that had rotted out.
I spent most of yesterday underneath scraping cracked sealer off the chassis, cleaned up the rust and applied fresh sealer.
It should be OK for a while now (should!!)

We have a little Ford 125bhp ST-line X.
Wife would let me have the ST or the 140.
It’s our 2nd and love the fiesta, but I’ve only ever driven a few cars so have nothing to compare it to.
It’s been great on long journeys and got enough room for what we need.

I had a Ford Puma, basically a 125bhp Fiesta, it was a fantastic little car, great handling and drove like an engine with a car attached, I'd happily have another one, but they're a bit small when you've got two teenaged children.

The new puma is very different, and definitely more practical

Most of the car, I cba to go out and take another

I wanted a car I could fiddle about with - new cars with zero issues I can't be doing with.
Kids had left home, seemed a good excuse to get a 2seater.
Giant hippies driving hairdresser's cars doesn't annoy people as much as you might expect. :(

My other car is a more terrible 200k 406 with a glued engine.

And I definitely don't want a new one, an old one that hasn't got rusty rear wheel arches and worn out suspension bushes would be nice, but I've got enough old vehicles now that need endless maintenance

Don’t take pics of cars but at work I’ve got a 68 plate transit custom limited, a 16 plate berlingo, a 66 plate L200 and a 4wd auto Kuga. The Kuga is the one I use most as it’s quiet and comfy. The L200 is good off road and the transit for carrying bikes.

My car I guess is the Elgrand I’ve had for 5 years and the missus has a Merc SLK we’ve had for 4 years

My summer toy. My wife has a Mini Cooper which is our daily. I get this out if its sunny. Had it 8 months and only done 1400 miles in it and the wife did about 300 of those when her car was off the road for a week. When i think about the cost of tax, insurance and depreciation, I think i'll get rid of it as its hard to justify the cost of it sitting there mainly unused, but then the sun comes out...

Like a few others i have always had heaps of shit to drive around in. The last one was a 2007 Peugeot 207 1.4 i bought as it was cheaper than a new set of winter riding kit.

Once i sorted out all my debt and finances last year i was able to buy something a bit nicer. Its still 10 years old as i still wont stretch to a new car but with a private plate on doesnt look that old ;)

Audi TT 2.0 Sport

Image

We also have this one for the missus or for when we have company or longer trips for as she prefers the comfort level

Audi Q3 S Line ....again not new as its 6 years old but lob on the private plate and takes years off it

We're in the process of getting different seats in the back and a pop-top roof fitted, then she'll be ready for MTB, surfing and trackday trips.

My 6th of these, usually kept for 3 years but the last 2 have stayed longer. Spent their lives as working vet's cars, but I've retired so now it looks like this - never did before. Quick, comfy, well-equipped, down sides are only get 30mpg on a drive-like-granny day, and £550 tax. No longer available as the newer ones are too Freelanderish for me.

I don't have it any more but when I owned a chip shop (a mid life crisis kind of thing...) I had my JDM wide arch Toyota Celica GT4 vinyl wrapped to advertise the shop...
