Might have to break the Enfield out for this in novice group, hopefully tricky is there on his fire breathing 390 🤣

Do you think a ZH2 will be allowed in the novice group?😂

"Especially the lies."

Ish. Sorta. They have rules, only once have a seen a bike of our lot fail. What are we talking about? Twins seem to do better than screamy 4s

As you'll have seen, RTTL have offered a member on here a FREE trackday for August this year at Pembrey.

Thanks to our host, Alan at PBTD we have another space up for grabs too which has been offered to Docca for his services to the NHS in the past year. Just something to give him a day out, a bit of a break and a bit of a social gathering with like minded mates from RTTL (and the older places)

I don't know if Docca can make it yet, but amazing work by Alan and the guys at PBTD to offer out the place.

Thanks guys.

I don’t think I’ll be in novice but I’m unsure what the Enfield can do, however I’d love to put it up against the 390 we’d have a right laugh I reckon

Is there gonna be any instruction there*?

I'm not expecting a full on race school or anything, but on the few times I've been on track before (not just bikes) the thing I hate is just riding around not knowing what I'm supposed to be doing. I know to a certain extent I can figure it out, but if you're spending decent money it'd be nice to get a bit of feedback.

*Constructive instruction that is ;)

Yes. They have fast guys and BSB guys. They will be more than happy to show you lines and or follow you. We can speak to Alan and get it sorted in advance.

To answer another incoming question or two.

You need
A full face helmet. I'd recommend ACU approved but it's not mandatory.
1 or 2 piece FULL zip together suit. Tiny 8" zip not allowed.
Appropriate boots, not ankle boots
Appropriate gloves, don't wear super short ones

Your bike. Basically if you can ride it to the track it will in theory be fine. Noise limits are 102db static. This is done as per ACU regulations. This is not open to debate, if you fail, you can fix it with baffle etc, but until it's within the limits you won't be allowed out. Race cans, race systems should pass, but I'd go on the side of caution myself. If you think it's silly loud, it probably is.

Tyres, well that depends upon you. Again, if it got you there, it's ok. Race sticky rubber can be better, but we're in Wales, a shower isn't impossible. Get the pressure dropped a bit and ride round.

Every session has 2 sighting laps. No overtaking, depending on where you go out in the group it can technically be about 2.5 laps as it's counted from the last rider in group passing the line.

You'll need your driving licence. With motorcycle entitlement on it. This will be checked before hand.

I've won the golden ticket!!! Huge thanks to the Mods and everyone who contributes here.

My only experience is a Reclaim Our Tracks day at Brands around 10 years ago and while they taught us the rules of the track (flags and stuff), there was no tuition. So I'm almost as novice as they get and brickin' it in the most exciting way :banana-dance:

Now, what bike? I have a Street Triple RS or do I hire one?

If I do attend it will be on a 1998 CBR600 with Sports Touring tyres. Your Triumph will be fine :D

Brake when you see God, chuck it on its side, save it on yer knee and wheelie out.

What Dazzle said. I used my 1150GSA at Pembrey a couple of years ago. Your Street Triple will be fine. :D
