Not a car bloke at all. Just devices, except I've always wanted a Morgan as it looks old but is new. So money no object a new Morgan

You want an Eagle E-Type, tho I'm not sure if they've got A/C.Newey wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 5:32 pm E Type Jag but one made from all modern parts including an engine from whatever and AC, cost, don't care as it's all hypothetical lol

Part of the attraction when I had an MGB was that all the bits were just the right amount of rubbish all together to make driving it fun, I suspect if it was reworked the charm would be lost. I agree about AC though.Newey wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 5:32 pm E Type Jag but one made from all modern parts including an engine from whatever and AC, cost, don't care as it's all hypothetical lol

Not really a car person.
But…a solid MG Midget ( I’d be looking for a while)
There was a scabby B GT outside work today but sills looked ok (looked)

I know from experience the sills can look great with a recent reciept for new sills and still be rubbish if all the 'restorer' did was replace the outer part.asmethurst99 wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 6:58 pm Not really a car person.

None of the parts cost a fortune but labour does so ideally it's hobby.

If I won the euros I think I'd have a G Wagon as a daily driver. But I'd insist on a decent amount of sidewall on the tyres. That or the Aston Martin SUV thing. I want something higher than a car, easy to park, goes well but is quiet at motorway speeds.

What about a Sebring MG?asmethurst99 wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 6:58 pm Not really a car person.

A solid non rusty Midget with a nice peppy A series engine (the term peppy is relative here ) - Just always liked them.

I've put my Tesla up for sale. If it goes then i'll get a convertible. If it doesn't sell, well then it, err stays!

An Autozam AZ1. I doubt I'd fit in it but it's got gullwing doors.

Alternatively, I wonder if a Mazda MX5 engine would fit.asmethurst99 wrote: Sat May 30, 2026 12:04 pm ...

I've changed my mind, I just want a brand new one of what I've got now, sadly Mitsubishi stopped making them in 2017

I wish someone would make a modern, reliable, old looking car, like they do with bikes. 20s, 30s, 40s. Maybe 50s.

I'll have £500 on it developing some mysterious electrical fault that will cost more than you paid for the car to fix.
