Swmbo had tyres replaced and neededanewtpms according to the dasteadoutmsstillneeds anewtpmswhich the tyre shop wants to charge €60tofit€10for thebit
Expressed thopinionto the salessmanagerthat€60os excessive for something that should have been done when the tyres were fitted

The batteries in the sensors should last 5-10 years. How old are they?

Strange that it happened when the tyres were replaced. :hmmm:

Could it be that the valve bits need re-linking to the system? I'm sure there's something in the manual of my wife's car about doing that.

Also a bit :hmmm: that the tyre people didn't mention anything. I thought they check these things. Maybe @Jody will have an idea. IIRC he did the occasional stint as a tyre fitter.

Our Tuscon needs a good drive for the tyre pressure sensors to sort themselves out/get recognised by the car after a tyre is swapped or I put the spare on.

€10 for the part is cheap imo, €60 to fit is horrrendous. are you sure you have it the right way around ?

Question is, why did it need replacing?. If the dashboard light wasn't on when she drove in, then that indicates the sensor was working properly. It IS entirely possible for a careless tyrefitter to break a TPMS when breaking the bead of the old tyre. It's stupid mistake, but I can't say I haven't done it.
