Preventing Punctures.

Post by Yorick »

Getting fed up of punctures. Tried the Tubliss system my pal runs but got more punctures than normal.

So now gone for 4mm inner tube on front.
I carry that spray can puncture repair, but often it's too late as the valve stem has been ripped off the tube.

Is there summat that I can put in before I ride?

I like to run both tyres about 10 psi.

Any advice?

It's hard to regulate the tyre pressures. I can't stand up on the bike so ride sat down.
I can feel big differences with wrong tyre pressures.

I put slime in my tubes to try and reduce the gradual pressure loss. I then got a puncture and even though it shouldn't work, it did. It was only when i got home i noticed all the luminous green stuff over the inner mudguard and swinging arm and realised i had a puncture.

Have you got rim locks, it sounds like tyre movement is ripping the valve from the tube rather than you getting punctures,

Probably 10 mm big blobs of rubber, no sharp objects.
Infuriating

Move back to England. No nasty, sharp volcanic rock here, just mile after mile of lovely soft, muddy, rain-filled ruts and trenches! :wtf:
