Oh, this is the Sunbeam showing the exposed rockers. Quite hypnotic:

I love it when they tick over so slowly that you can almost see the timing on the rockers.

Oil cooler fitted and guard made from 'U' section ally with some coarse mesh fixed behind the cut outs with JB.

Just to add that a couple of years ago when I was riding round europe the frame tubing between the swingarm mount and top shock mount cracked all the way round on my ducati 1198s. After having some kind of existential crisis for ten minutes wondering what to do I went to a DIY store and bought some steel tubing that had an internal diameter slightly larger than the external diameter of the frame tube. Lashings of jb weld and two halves of the steel tube wrapped around with a couple of heavy duty jubilee clips. 12 hours later I dared carry on and did approx 3500 miles...and left it like that for a year before getting it properly welded last year. Saved my holiday break and honestly couldn't feel any difference in the bike.

Another JB success story. We should all carry some in our tool kits!.

The end caps of this in-line fuel filter fell off when I removed the cartridge from the housing. JB to the rescue, I'd already used the stuff on the inlet port so I was confident that fuel wouldn't be a problem. Curing on a radiator speeds up the process and sets after about 5 hrs.

I use it as filler when restoring bench vices.

Great stuff. It seems to be used quite a bit for restoration work to level and smooth pitted metal.

I modified the rear of the left side panel to incorporate a couple of air scoops and used some ally plate shaped to guide air into the carb, all stuck together with JB.

When I did the kickstart mod to my Fantic I had to remove the exhaust heat shield and the exhaust bosses to make space for the lever and come up with some sort of alternative. I purchased this shield from Aliexpress.

Although it did the job it didn't look good!

I decided to cut down this table leg and make a fancy cover

I used the heat shield as a template and came up with this

The mesh is stuck to the rear with JB

4mm bosses then stuck in place onto the heat shield with JB

So long as it does the job it doesn't matter, just needs a bit of polish!. Nice bike got any more pics of the whole bike.

A few.... It's a 1969 BSA rolling chassis fitted (not by me) with a Suzuki DRZ400 engine giving quite sprightly performance. I'm currently engaged in fitting a Steib sidecar - all fittings have been made, alignment sorted out and the body tub is off to the paint shop next week. I'm having it done in the same red as the tank & side panels.

Here are a couple of pics.

This is the chassis propped in place for initial setup:



This shows some of the struts (made from seamless steel tubing with internally threaded adaptors before they were welded in)



and this is the body trial fit with the tonneau cover loosely applied.

I thought the engine looked pretty modern!. Great job, It'll be great to see it when it's all finished.
