Let us know how fat they feel mate. I like the feel of stock grips, but like the effects of heated... I'm not sure you can really get both.

I'm hoping for middle ground between the stock grips and the grip puppies I have on at the moment. The GPs are comfy just cruising, but feel too big for my hands in other use.

France based,by the sound of it. Looks decent quality for lowish prices. Probably aiming for the same market as Maxton and Nitron.

Buy a BMW?

(ok, ok, don't hit me it was a joke!)

Mind you - I don't know if any of the Japanese uber-tourers ('Wing/Pan/FJR etc) ever came with factory heated grips - retro-fitting those might be doable?

I'm not doing anything over winter because the bike is going into storage again. :( I currently have nowhere except the street to park it and won't be using it anyway, so there's no point parking it on the street for 4 months, when it can be shut up in a nice dry garage where it's safer.

My Mum had genuine Honda factory fit grips on her CBR600 circa 2004...my Dad had em on a VFR ISTR too. They're not "factory fit" I suspect, but rather dealer fit.

They were noticeably better than Oxford ones, too hot on the maximum setting in fact, and not really any thicker.

I referenced your question on this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=746&start=40 One post up from the bottom.

But you maybe missed it. Essentially I don't find the grips much different in feel to stock, just a wee hair thicker, but hardly noticeable for me.

CBR 900
Change plugs and get the alarm taken off - may take it to FWR .
Plan is to to see if it will pass emissions regs test (an LC recently did)
As well as ride it

Is the emission test the one to enable riding it in London's LEZ?

Sorry yes - it's for the ULEZ which arrives October 2021 .
Ulez expansion goes to the A 406 (as I'm sure people are aware)
I don't want to sell it ..

I found the same as i fitted a set a few weeks ago to the fazer. Only thing i had to adjust was the bar end weight as doing them up too tight and it jammed the throttle open :D

Lovely and toasty since then

What upgrades next then guys ?

I'm still waiting for Mrs Weeksy to find the urge to break out the wallet again and buy a GSXR750. It wasn't that hard to persuade her last time but i don't wanna push her.

To ease the boredom I'm slowly replacing stock bolts with titanium. I think they look more classy, rather than a weight loss thang.

Exciting eh?

When the weather picks up I'm going to book the bike into Christian Elkin for an ECU flash on his dyno. https://www.dynocentreni.com

I'm not after more horses,I just want rid of all the emissions gubbins,so the bike runs as it should before the homologation department got at it. Hopefully that'll make the fuelling a lot sweeter too.

I had Mark from SSR suspension fit a K-Tech cartridge kit in the forks,so come the Spring I hope the have the bike's performance and handling the way I want, then I can stop fucking about with shiney things and get some riding done.

You want pics?

I don't have any gusset shots of my actual forks. K-Tech don't do a cartridge specifically for the Z1000R,so Mark needed to do a custom fit.
This stock pic will be something like what's in there.

Latest job, exhaust downpipe rotted through just before it meets the link pipe.

Sod’s law its the one with the lambda which will be ok if I can remove it without snapping it.

What’s really annoying me is the new header from Yamaha does not have the collar that clamps it to the head fitted. Can you see my problem?

I’m thinking the simplest cure is to find a local custom shop that can cut off the rotten end and weld a new section of pipe on.
