Definitely not happy but properly made me laugh -
out learning routes today with a couple of other drivers and an instructor. One of the other drivers is a fellow student from my course and he's "interesting" - manipulative, interested only if it suits him and basically, despite being essentially married, he's the biggest slut and says all men want to shag around cos, a change is as good as a rest, or something like that

(tried desperately to fix me up with another guy on the course and when I said no, he asked why not himself!! Whilst chatting up any other woman that was around cos at least they spoke better french than me

)
Anyway, he's a bit patronising but I generally ignore it. But he commented on any fit female we saw, then, just before we got back to the depot we passed some roadworks and there was a very fit 20 ish years old girl manning a digger.
Tim's neck nearly snapped as he turned to keep her in view as long as possible

Then he said stuff, like " it's so cool to see women and girls doing things like that, driving diggers, lorries, I mean we have Charlotte driving with us , and Noggin, but it's so cool to see women finally getting to do jobs like this
He managed to forget Valerie who is my age and so took her coach licence over 30 years ago and then her lorry licence and has been driving coaches and HGVs for work since (she's really pretty, but doesn't count cos she's not 25

)
I was just laughing a lot. He said, why are you laughing.
I just said, women have always done these jobs, they've always been able to , in the war, who do you think did ALL the "male" jobs, then when the men came back and the boys got old enough to take the jobs back, women were relegated to the kitchen and home again. The instructor was nodding and saying, it's true (he's quite young but not a sexist tosser like Tim!!). I started driving buses when I was 20 (I forgot to mention Valerie at that point - a mix of laughing at Tim's face cos I was disagreeing and generally laughing at his view of life!!).
I pointed out that virtually all the very early software designs were by women, computers were originally designed and used by women - it's not that women can't or couldn't do the jobs, it's that because women were the only one of the sexes that could get pregnant, men could sideline them back to the home when the job/creation proved to be money making !!! (Did you know brewers were originally women, but once men realised that money could be made - all change!!! The witches hat was actually a brewers hat!!)
Anyway - it made me laugh a lot because the other driver and instructor were agreeing with me and the instructor even commented how patriarchal French life especially is (in comparison to English, he thinks) - Tim ended up not saying anything more and changing the subject !!
He so does not like to be contradicted

Normally he wouldn't talk to me for a few days, but he's on holiday till monday so I expect he'll have forgotten by then !!
