Phone collected and tanked brimmed ready for next Wednesday. Phew!

I was thinking what would I have done years ago. I'd have tried to get home and when I ran out i'd have had to leave the bike and go find a phone box to call for help. No such thing as phone boxes now though. :hmmm:

Years ago you would have shrugged, ridden to the nearest petrol station and got your wallet out.

Or could have filled up, then pretend you've lost your wallet.
Leave details then go pay later.

I've done that in past a few times, but not intentionality.

Ditto hiding a front door key somewhere near your gaff.

S'all I'm saying.
I keep emergency notes in my phone case. In this scenario, that wouldn't help at all 🤣

Anyway, today I found out that my dog has been shot 😱😱😱

Not recently I hasten to add, but there's apparently something metallic in his front right chest, like a BB pellet. It's apparently really clear on the full body CT scan that he had today, the vet will show me tomorrow.

He was a rescue, having been a stray/street dog in Croatia for the first two years of his life, so presumably that's when the shot happened. Bastards. No wonder he's bloody terrified of gunshots/bird scarers/fireworks.

(He's been in and out of the vets all week, trying to work out what's up with him - hence the CT scan.)

I assume you need ID to get into your place of work? Is that on your phone?...

I think your missing what I was saying about back in't day when there were no mobile phones and I carried a wallet, which I don't now. FWIW, we do have ID cards, but I have special access rights to my building so dont need to carry mine.

Dropped by the airfield for a few gallons of the good stuff. Was recognized while there & promptly got a phone call to swap the wings on a Cessna 337. Bugger.

Came home, gassed up the ZX, it fired right up after sitting for at least 7 months.

Not really Pietin, I carry a phone but I also carry a wallet as it has quite a few things besides money that can be useful. I advocate against 'single point of failure' existence. :D 'Oh noes, my phone battery is flat/I have sat on it etc...I am bereft'. (Besides which I don't use my phone to pay things* and am still flat earth enough to have actual membership cards etc).

What did you swap them for?

I do use apple pay, but I have a Vena wallet case on my phone which (discretely) houses my debit/ID cards etc. I thought I'd miss a wallet, but I dont as its one less thing to carry. Its only when I wear a suit (very rare) I miss carrying my Dads old fashioned, full sized wallet that carries unfolded bank notes.

Jack Daniels Single Barrel 100 Proof.

It was bought as a gift. The giver used to buy me Silver Select, but that was discontinued years ago.

I dunno why, the Silver Select was so much smoother, this 100 Proof is pretty harsh.

Fuckers at Ford did nothing to the ST all fucking day, was supposed to get a call with a diagnosis by 10 this morning.
ST was still sat on the lot at 3pm, unseen.
Riot Act was hinted at. Things started to happen.

Up shot is the leak is a simple $8 O-Ring.. which they won't have until next week.. so rather than let us take the ST home until they have the part, they put us in a rental on their dime until Tuesday... for a fucking $8 O-Ring.

The surgeon was unable to stitch up afterwards, she said the finger was bending back. So it's an unstitched cut which doesn't look particularly pleasant, it still smarts a bit too.
