Keeping a tenner under the seat, or in a side pocket of your jacket, can be a really good idea.
Ditto hiding a front door key somewhere near your gaff.
S'all I'm saying.

The Keys for my (wife's) Bonnie have a £20 note in a little holder. Mrs D gave it to her Dad cause he was always getting stuck somewhere on his broken down bike.gremlin wrote: Wed Apr 16, 2025 12:36 pm Keeping a tenner under the seat, or in a side pocket of your jacket, can be a really good idea.

The twenty quid note in there does date from about 2001 though

Re: What have you done today thread?
I always used to keep a £10 note in my toolkit or under a side panel etc, but haven't bothered in recent years. TBF its the first time i've ever forgotten my phone and I fill up every 3rd day, so even with forgetting it the odds were still in my favour. Ho hum...Mr. Dazzle wrote: Wed Apr 16, 2025 12:52 pmThe Keys for my (wife's) Bonnie have a £20 note in a little holder. Luckily for me though, cash is king. Even if it just a fiver, I always have some cash on me. And my shed keys. If I was lucky enough to be out but unlucky enough to run out of petrol I have breakdown cover but no phone.
It makes life more exciting.

I generally sit on the toilet and let nature take its toll.
If I feel that the experience is going to be drawn out, I may take a copy of the periodical magazine booklet "The Chap" along with me for the ride.
A jolly good read for when one is taking his ablutions. More entertaining than one of those dreadful mobile telephone machines.

In answer to my last post above, I sometimes take my pipe and enjoy a good shag whilst sitting on the toilet. In a gentlemanly way.

Today I have done my back a mischief
Currently sitting with a hot water bottle behind me. I have also just sneezed which was agony.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got on the bike and teh low fuel warning was on, so I knew I wasn't making it home! Gentle bimble to the texaco garage on The Highway where £3 got me over 2 litres and it put me 2 bars on the fuel gauge. Made it home just as it went to 1 bar. Phone collected and tanked brimmed ready for next Wednesday. Phew!
