Changing a fixed shed window to one that can open

As above really, I think it would be good to allow some air in to the shed at time’s.

From what I can tell it’s a bit of plastic held in my a tiny bit of silicon and some small wooden battons.

How would I make it so I can open and close it??

You could see what kind/size of glass louvres are available for greenhouses then make the hole the right size to fit. IIRC (without going out to look ) you just screw the mechanism on each side and slide the glass into the slots so, in theory, provided you can get the glass slats cut to size you can make 'em fit just about anything.

Otherwise you could get someone to make you a window to drop in and secure. The double glazing folk seem to be able to get any size made up to fit.

External hinged piece of wood? Pref made out of the same stuff as the shed for the aesthetics of it. Hinge at the top and a prop to hold it up when open. (With a hasp and padlock if you want security when closed, although it looks like only a small thief could get in).

I’ve removed 2 panels from the windows at either end, hoping that will create some air flow.

Water/condensation seems to be forming on the center roof, quite a bit to be fair since completing the insulation.

Hoping the windows will sort that.
I’ll probably order some Perspex to fit the window and either fit a hinge or just leave them loose until I can work out how to fit something

When it's all dry you could give the areas that are getting the condensation a coat of polyurethane sealant or some such. Won't stop the condensation but should stop the staining. I'm guessing that the area you've photo'd get the coldest.

Ventilation + air movement is the answer. (Or a dehumidifier).

For ~ £8 you can get a digital humidity meter with max and min levels from Amazon. For ~£12 you can get the Blutooth version so you can monitor the humidity from indoors. Supposed to work at 80m distance but I'm not sure I believe it.

Seems hard work to replace the window when you can use a holecutter/jigsaw to put a hole in the timber wall and just fire a bit of placky pipe and a vent in there.
Maybe a lecky Expelair like ZRX suggested.

So the 2 panels I’ve removed got broken in the process.
Also now they are “open” there is zero condensation on thr roof where is was forming and the bit that looked damp has dried. So guessing airflow is not issue now

On the subject of damp, in a fit of 'clickyitis' I bought one of these for the kitchen.

It's a compact electric dehumidifier with a 1 litre capacity and can pull 250ml a day out of the air. £35.

It's got to be better than those tubs of hygroscopic crystals. Probably not man enough for a whole kitchen but might work in localised condensation spots like a window ledge. (I've got a particular problem in that above one bit of kitchen ceiling is a girder in the loft which gets v cold - I'm going to lag it - and so I get a line of condensation on the ceiling when it's cold out and there's a lot going on on the hob. The 1 litre jobbie can sit on top of a cupboard near the problem).

I'm contemplating getting a couple more.
