My :( one was Carnivàle.

Season 2 ended on a real cliffhanger then....nuffink. :angry-cussingblack:
Matt Roush of TV Guide called Carnivàle "the perfect show for those who thought Twin Peaks was too accessible".

And conversely quite a few that would have been better off having ended a season, or two, before they did.

There are probably some that shouldn't have started.

But yes, some that went on for four or five years (or more) that got really quite 'thin'. The ones that make me laugh are those that go on longer than expected and tie themselves in knots with umpteen plot lines then try and bring it all together at the end when, clearly, they had no idea how it was supposed to end when they started. :D

Babylon 5 was an exception, they had the whole 5 year story arc planned at the beginning. However, they thought it wouldn't get funding for a 5th season so, in the end season 4 and 5 got a bit tangled up as they rapidly rejigged things after getting the go-ahead.

Space: Above and Beyond was killed way too early. Lost was killed way too late.

I remember watching the last episode of S: AB and thinking 'I guess they knew that there was to be no Season 2'. Not much chance of reviving it after that. :D

Just watched Finestkind. Impressive jolly jape with a few twists and unexpected endings.

No suits, politics or knobhead directors.

I quite enjoyed Kaos so was sad to see it not be renewed.

The Expanse wrapping up "halfway" through season 6, it felt very curtailed.

"My dear Doctor, they're all true."

"Especially the lies."

Play Nicely. The missus had it recommended and we just watched the first episode on catch-up.

Was interesting at first, but the ending suggested it was about to turn nasty, and missus doesn't want to see anymore if it's gonna be a shit show.

2nd episode was on tonight. Anyone watch it and can report back?

We watched it and really enjoyed it. I got annoyed at it several times, so I knew it was good. :D A fair bit of legal poetic license is needed, but if you can run with that, you'll enjoy it.

SAS Rogue Heroes, series one, only 3 episodes in so far, but it's a hoot.
McSatan wrote: Thu Nov 03, 2022 1:38 pm It's OK.

Tell you what is brilliant, though. SAS Rogue Heroes. They actually stick quite close to facts, albeit in a dramatised fashion.

What *really* makes it though, is the music. Who knew AC/DC, The Stranglers, Sham 69, Saxon and the Damned would fit so well with WWII desert warfare?

The scene where the SAS do the first hit on the German airfields, firefights as they withdraw and just as the planes start blowing up, the pounding drum solo, New Rose by the Damned! Utterly inspired :)
What he said, the music, albeit many decades out of time, totally makes this series.

Just done Alien Romulus on Disney+

I don't like proper scary films, but it wasn't too bad. That thing at the end, proper creepy!

There's a good few nods to the previous films, the "Get off her you bitch" wasn't very subtly shoehorned in... and talking of shoes, the heroine has the same Reeboks on as Ripley in Aliens.

The wife was enjoying it and didnt want to look for something else, so I left it on and then found myself still watching it! I did bail as it was late and i had an early start, but I now find I need to finish watching it later even if i have no real idea why! :wtf:

one thing I like about that was the fact that it poked fun at itself.
