I worked from home for a week while I had a cough, I really didn't like it, I need the separation between work and home.

Theres a few furloughed (or idle rich..) wandering about on the quiet lanes with their ipods going in a world of their own.. Keep an eye open for silly barstards in the middle of the road who wont hear you..

I've come across a few people wandering down the middle of what would normally be busyish roads, I'm also really careful approaching junctions, a lot of drivers are assuming the roads are empty and not looking properly.
I'm only going to and from work though, I'm not using the fastest route, but the one I am using is about the same distance but has some nice bends on it.

Weather is good so been doing some stuff that would otherwise be left but I’m starting to get a bit bored now. I don’t like very warm weather so it’s a perfect temperature for me for biking and I so miss not being out on the bike. Every day like this counts in the UK.

It’s very selfish though when people are fighting for their lives and being confined to home won’t last forever. Difficult not to feel a little guilty for even wishing to be doing something else.....

Key worker but spending 90% of my time WFH.
Calls etc keeping me busy but having to share the house with missus who's doing similar is a pain. Fortunately last few days with the nice weather, she's chilling outside.
I did take an hour outside today tidying up her Giant XTC MTB as it's in a pretty sorry state.... :x

Just found out Im now eligible for priority booking with Tesco, which will help no end. Not immediately though as I have just stocked up. (Not panic buying stocked up, just sensible levels of stocked up)

That sounds like a good result and at least you don’t have to worry about getting food and provisions in. :)

Yes, just the slow creeping insanity of not seeing any living human people to worry about now. In actual fact not seeing people is probably going to keep me sane...

Human beings are overrated!! You do know that everything makes more sense when you’re having a conversation with yourself........and you tend not to be able to have a very effective argument either.

OI!!! Keep the noise down in here, :shhh: :shhh: :shhh:

Some of us are still working and apparently although I could work from home, its good to have my face around the factory :(

Because they keep building those emergency hospitals we have to stay open, so although most of the people have been furloughed a skeleton staff will have to carry on

Full lock down here from midnight last night for 48 hours. This was going to be a pain as I'd ordered 10 small pides from the bakers and my neighbour was going to pick them up for me and do some other shopping.

I got off the rowing machine this morning (my daily attempt at keeping a modicum of fitness) and he'd messaged me that he'd got them. 5 minutes after that the Jandarma came round making sure we were all being good!

I'll be out on the balcony most of the day (my workshop) and I hope they are not going to take exception to that if they patrol around here again. Otherwise all is good - I think. The hordes from Istanbul haven't descended onto their holiday homes so being already fairly isolated we may escape this shit. And I might get most of these boats made! And a small router table; and new tops for my workmate; and a swimming pool sump cover; and something else . . . Whatever.

With a large family of 8 ( that includes the au pair), 3 cats and a black lab- we seem to carrying on relatively normally.

If anything, the wide and I are even closer and getting to spend more time with the kids is not as skullfuckingly stressful as anticipated.

Our neighbours are usually extremely quiet, but that's due to them being perpetually stoned. They must have exhausted their weed supply a few days ago because we can now hear them try and talk to each other. Its like watching kids take their first steps, but instead of kids its middle aged bankers and instead of steps its lots of shouting about how they don't know how to use the thermostat.

We are limiting the amount of tech the kids have otherwise they'd just spend all day on the switch/ps4/phones etc. They don't get tech until after 4pm and only then when chores/school work/ playing outside in the garden is done. Lots of baking.

Mental health all good and strong. I go out for provisions twice a week to ensure we have enough. The only stress there is I didn't like supermarkets beforehand and now I fucking loathe them.

Me and some of the kids fixed the shed roof yesterday. All day job, replacing bits of wood and felt etc but lots of fun. Today we are going clean the motorbikes.

Stay safe and well all.

In many ways it's hard to argue that quality of life has improved in a lot of aspects of families isn't it. Spending more time together, eating together more often, building lego or doing whatever, going out for evening walks. It's a lot of good and i'm hoping we carry some of this forward as a society once we get out of the danger zone eventually.

The only thing i'm really missing is the ability to do my weekend social cycles with the lads, which we could arguably do if we were to 'bend' the rules a little bit. But we're making up for it with indoor social group rides on Zwift.

One funny from yesterday was watching the neighbours 'training' in the front garden, on techniques of how to barrel roll in a canoe ! Yes, really.... Canoeing in the front garden ! I did offer them the paddling pool :)

Just back from the "necessary shop". Queue was long, as in down the car park, wait 1/2 hour long. But the sun was shining, the seagulls were screaming and it was pleasant enough to relax and just wait. However, once in the shop, they were not observing the distances. Just stay away from me horrible diseased people... The cashier was very cheerful and the manager of the store said he was very glad they were busy as it meant at least some families were still being paid a full wage and had the financial security to keep things going.

Got home and washed hands, changed shirt and will now jetwash the mats that need cleaning. Lunch time in a little while. I had my double espresso, so am nicely stoked for the next little while.

Hope I don't have to go out for another 9 days now. Stay safe all.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.
