Not understanding the systems of stuff here.

A letter appeared in my postbox today (I last checked on Friday) that is a month late. Turns out that a deposit is (was?) due to be paid for the apartment sale and I had to send some information to the solicitor.

So, I've received this a month late. What's really annoying is that I need to rent a car until the bloody sale goes through and whilst I can do that, I don't have the amount they want for a 'caution' (deposit?). If I had this money, I'd be fine! FFS

Along with the sale going through two months (at least) late because of various info I didn't know PLUS the company that did the diagnositics (required for the compromise de vente) took two bloody months :o :o

If I knew more about the systems, things would happen faster cos no fukker tells you what you need to know, only what you ask - and you only do the asking if you know you need to. But you don't know unless someone tells you you need to know :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack:

Wife's car failed the MOT in a bad back disc, she's had it less than a year and has only did a few thousand miles, she had been trying to book it in for a service as the MOT was coming up and they told her not to worry. Anyway she phoned the dealer today and was told it was her fault as......

A. She had the temerity to actually drive the thing in the rain without getting an underbody wash...

B. She was braking too hard.... (A 52yo grandmother isn't Lewis Hamilton)

So they told her that she could fit new pads and discs for £500.

£500 quid for two discs and a set of pads. My Fabia uses the exact same discs and pads and they're £100 fitted at our local VAG indy.

Reading the forums, it seems that the discs don't wear, but actually the surface flakes off like a scab and it's common.

Even so 500 quid for rear discs and pads is taking the piss big style.

Got 4 oak trees in our front garden that are covered under a tree preservation order, so have to jump through hoops to even look at them funny!
One of them is looking a bit unhealthy and the others need a haircut, so had out tree surgeon apply to the City Council for consent.
After weeks of waiting and several pics being sent and highlighting them on Google Maps, council finally responds stating we can cut down the unhealthy tree but no comment on trimming the others - contact them today and their response 'Oh, didn't realise you wanted to trim the others' - FFS, we sent photos, sketches and Google Map images showing you, you clown! Lets now restart the civil servants timepiece.....

I'm guessing the system waits for someone to speak then connects you to a call handler so now I always answer but never speak in the hope that they will be charged because the call was answered. It hangs up very quickly if you don't speak.

Statistics based dialling innit. Call handlers get paid, so they are expensive. Calls are cheap, so 'puter lines up calls to mugs so call handlers never have to wait. If on average two call handlers become free every second the system makes sure that there are about 5 calls waiting. Excess calls just get dumped.

Absolute Radio have changed the jingle thingies, they're now done by a man who sounds like Matt Berry, but isn't Matt Berry who used to do them.

Can't say I've noticed, probably due to them penny pinching after being taken over by Rayo.

junior work colleagues, who despite being given clear instructions to ask me if they are getting confused or aren't sure but proceed too ignore this and massively break the network doing what they think is best in contravention of our instructions and then not telling me until its too late......oh I can see a fun interview without tea and biscuits on Monday for me with Management.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."

"Especially the lies."

Email from Hastings, last year you paid £220, this year it's £330.

'pah' thinks I, I can do better.

Just done a quote on the Bennetts website... £865!!!

Try Express insurance, worked for me.
Just remembered to give them a call to take it off auto-renewal (a sure fire way to get a discount) and they've dropped it to £277.

Which I don't think is too bad for three bikes.

The "Harry Redknapp pretending to be an Alexa" ads are back on LBC.

And James O'Brien is even more smug than usual, the guy makes Rees-Mogg seem humble at times.

Rees-Mogg has a new reality TV show in the style of The Kardashians.

I've not watched it yet, I bet it's hilarious.

Computer systems!!

I have no access to ANTS (DVLA equivalent, sort of) here due to the change of first name. They produced my French driving licence in the correct legal name but didn't change it in their system so I have no access as the licence doesn't match the info on the account

When I started the course, someone in the office did the original application for the Coach licence through her account. And she'd said that as soon as the diploma arrived, she could process the final part for me.

The diploma didn't arrive until Saturday and she's off work until Friday :( :( :( Even more delays :( :(

I have emailed the two colleagues on her out of office email to ask them to help me, but I'm not sure they will - FFS!!!

And there's me thinking I was the only one who thought Mr O'Brien was a smug bar steward. Can't stand him.

You are most definitely not in a class of two. I cant even listen to him for a few minutes. One of my mates is a real left winger and J O'B even gets on his nerves, but he does still listen to him.

Waze have updated their voice directions. She used to say "Go straight on", now she says "Go straigh' on". It's bloody grating after a while.

It's food poverty innit. Can't afford food so swallow that last T. No nutritional value but it makes you feel full.
