I had to look at the bottom of the architrave a couple of times before it made sense.

No, you see a spot of damp grout :)

I painted it in the garden.

The white stuff is powered filler.

When I pulled the old skirting board off for the tiler, a big panel of plasterboard between the rad in/outlets pulled away with it.

I had the rad off to make good, I sanded ALOT of filler, it got everywhere.

I can't see the circled object now, It might be something fallen off a long haired cat that likes bushes.

If I'm by myself at my local in the square, I sit on the wall rather than take up a table.
Folk walking past all the time and my pal Elvis is famous so everyone stops to talk to us.
When I go to the bar he gets upset so make sure he can see me :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Last time i made an attempt to much water was coming up the pipe for my liking to abandoned job. I need to replace the skirting as its been painted to many times and coming away from the wall.

See the little white caps, pop them off and you can turn the valves to close them both off.

Then all you lose is the content of the rad when you disconnect it (into an old cat litter tray).

Ah now. I dont have them but the left i have the adjusting valve and the right is just an right angle bit pipe. Dont think i turned the valve off what i presume would be the in pipe and other being out. Am i right in thinking only water should be what comes out the radiator?

Not just water, but also the blood of your enemies you chopped up and hid in the header tank in the loft.

Probably just a pigeon. We had neighbours from hell once what lasted a couple of years. They were under my house but the two tanks are in my loft. They may have drank some things you may not want to drink once or twice.

By 'adjusting valve' I think you might be referring to a thermostatic valve?

It might have an off position. It might only have a frost protection position which still lets a bit of water through.

The top bit does come off and it'll look just like a normal valve which you can fully turn off.

If the other side is just an elbow connected to the rad then if you disconnect all the rads 'upstream' will back drain out of it.

You can get kits that freeze the pipes, you could freeze it up and put a proper stop valve on.

S'what I used last time, and had the countdown clock going off in my head for the whole job until I got it connected back up again.

Trick with those is to stick a 5p in them 👍 That'll then close it fully.

Approved for use on nuclear reactor repair too

Bit more substantial than a can of spray though!
