Electrical multi connectors
Electrical multi connectors
Having been brought up on Lucas bullets which are simplicity themselves to dismantle - in fact have been know to do it themselves - I've always had trouble with the multi connectors found on more modern bikes - the one with a sprung barb to hold them together. Like this:
I reasoned that there must be a tool to help with this, and after some searching I found this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375506485883 ... 4438651112
It arrived this morning so I rushed out to the garage to try it. I have to report that, although not perfect - finish a bit rough - it did the job with no problems. I can recommend this tool. Obviously not something you need every day but invaluable when you do.

Re: Electrical multi connectors
No, you apply it to the connector so that one of the arms depresses the latch. Those connectors can be a nightmare leaving broken fingernails and the air blue with curses.
Roadster - the tool os to disconnect the connectors not remove the terminals from inside.

Re: Electrical multi connectors
It might work, but thems hose / spark plug pliers.
Proper disconnect pliers have a different head, they even show it in one of their advertising photos (top right)
But if it works for you then go with it

As I say, it does work for me and have used it a couple of times now. Could you let us know where the "correct" item can be got from?MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 10:26 am It might work, but thems hose / spark plug pliers.

Re: Electrical multi connectors
All over the internet, I've never bothered as the only ones that give me grief are usually hidden away and I'd risk more damage to the wires
