Re: Who Will You Vote For?
Enough now. Let's have our opinions but ramming them down people's throats time and time again is getting fucking boring.
Not necessarily directed at anyone but I'm getting sick to death of it.
Everyone here has the right to their own opinion and choices without being told be one side or another they're stupid. The fact as to whether person A o B is stupid is purely based upon the biased opinion of person C or D.
So let's give it a rest, I've had enough. That's not why we're here

We have postal votes because we're on holiday in France from 29th June to 12th July. Which by chance also happens to be when the French snap elections are taking place (June 30th and July 7th). Should be 'interesting'.

Re: Who Will You Vote For?
I'm seriously thinking of voting Green. Our ward is a total Labour lock-in, so it's time for a bit of a 'don't thinkyou can take us for granted' vote. Plus the Green candidate's brother lives two doors down from us and is a cool guy, so vote Local...

Is it so terrible if people discuss politics in a political thread, in the political section of the forum?weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 8:32 pm Enough now. Let's have our opinions but ramming them down people's throats time and time again is getting fucking boring.

If you don't let people talk about what they want to, isn't there a risk you end up with not much talk?

Re: Who Will You Vote For?
It's perfectly fine to discuss but what we're not having is "if you vote conservative you're stupid/idiot" that's not a discussion, that's a statement and an insult.MyLittleStudPony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 9:28 amIs it so terrible if people discuss politics in a political thread, in the political section of the forum?weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 8:32 pm Enough now. People can and will vote however they like, but i'm sick of people insulting others because of their political choices. That's not on.
There's a difference between saying "the conservative policies are stupid" and "anyone who votes conservative is stupid"
There's also the fact that one is confrontational and likely to cause offence to the person who it's directed towards, the other encourages debate.
I honestly think as far as moderation goes this site is pretty flexible... but there's of course rules and we have to live with them.
Or not..
If the site dies because i won't accept people throwing insults about, so be it.

I've taken part in a 'Guess how many seats Labour will win' sweep at the office.
I've gone 464, way more than anyone else, coz I think the Tories are in for a proper drubbing.

Assuming labour get in, do you think they'll go after all the sleazy dealings during Covid? Big money was given to MP's chums.

If Reuters figures are correct, we might even see the Lib Dems become the official Opposition...
