In 6 months time, the hard left will rise again and she can be Prime Minister

Not necessarily directed at anyone but I'm getting sick to death of it.

Everyone here has the right to their own opinion and choices without being told be one side or another they're stupid. The fact as to whether person A o B is stupid is purely based upon the biased opinion of person C or D.

So let's give it a rest, I've had enough. That's not why we're here
Is it so terrible if people discuss politics in a political thread, in the political section of the forum?

If you don't let people talk about what they want to, isn't there a risk you end up with not much talk?

It's perfectly fine to discuss but what we're not having is "if you vote conservative you're stupid/idiot" that's not a discussion, that's a statement and an insult.
People can and will vote however they like, but i'm sick of people insulting others because of their political choices. That's not on.

There's a difference between saying "the conservative policies are stupid" and "anyone who votes conservative is stupid"

There's also the fact that one is confrontational and likely to cause offence to the person who it's directed towards, the other encourages debate.

I honestly think as far as moderation goes this site is pretty flexible... but there's of course rules and we have to live with them.

Or not..

If the site dies because i won't accept people throwing insults about, so be it.

I've taken part in a 'Guess how many seats Labour will win' sweep at the office.

I've gone 464, way more than anyone else, coz I think the Tories are in for a proper drubbing.

Assuming labour get in, do you think they'll go after all the sleazy dealings during Covid? Big money was given to MP's chums.

If Reuters figures are correct, we might even see the Lib Dems become the official Opposition...

No mileage in that at all.

It would be refreshing to see the 'proceeds of crime' legislation being used on white collar criminals for a change...

And risk all their future sleazy dealings being dragged through the courts once their term/s has finished?

A week or so back, The Telegraph had 'worst case's results as Con 58 and LD 50. Lab with 500+

Many high profile Cons losing seats, inc Sunak.

Without derailing this thread, proving that any crime has been committed would be nigh on impossible. In a similar vein to the financial crash, CEOs of banks simply couldn't be prosecuted as there was nothing on the statute books to nab them for.
More value in standing in a storm and pissing into the wind.

We need more laws then. These guilty people must be punished.
